The second floor consists of three rooms and a sitting room. One room is Master Er’s bedroom, another is his study, and there is a third room that was originally intended for his son, Er Hong. Unlike the rosewood decor of the rest of the floor, this room features a pink door frame and pink windows; at a glance, the paint looks much newer than the antique furniture.
On the wall of the sitting room hangs a row of old photographs. Among them is a remarkably handsome young man with sharp brows, star-bright eyes, and a brilliant smile. He bears a seventy-percent resemblance to Master Er, though he is far more dashing than the old man ever was. Beside the photo is an inscription: "1943–1966, Er Hong."
That is Er Hong, a man who truly looked the part of a gentleman.
