She turned on the flashlight on her mobile phone.
A faint beam of light shot forward. It could barely illuminate a small area at her feet.
This light did not bring her much of a sense of security.
Instead, it made the surrounding darkness seem even deeper.
She took a deep breath and stepped into the darkness.
The first step felt wrong.
Too quiet.
Before, she could still hear the faint sound of cars on the road in the distance.
Now, there was no sound at all. It was so quiet she could hear her heart pounding wildly in her chest.
She walked forward.
In the absolute silence, her footsteps sounded unusually abrupt and loud.
Wait!
Wrong!
She pricked up her ears, and amidst the echo of her footsteps, she heard it clearly.
Another set of footsteps!
Very light, very sticky.
Right behind her. Following her every move.
She stopped, and the footsteps stopped too. Without any delay.
She suddenly turned her head.
The beam of light from her mobile phone swept behind her.
No one.
Only her own lonely shadow on the ground, stretched long by the light of the phone.
She turned her head back, her heart about to leap out of her throat.
She continued to walk forward.
The footsteps reappeared.
This time she focused her attention and heard it incredibly clearly.
Right behind her head.
She could even feel cold breath blowing on the back of her neck.
She dared not look back again.
She quickened her pace.
Almost running.
The footsteps behind her also quickened.
Following closely behind her.
The light from her mobile phone swayed with her hand, sweeping across the walls.
She saw the stains on the walls.
They came alive.
Not trembling slightly, but wriggling and deforming clearly.
Forming faces of people screaming in agony.
No sound.
Only silent screams and terrifying expressions.
Under the illumination of the mobile phone's light, they looked extremely ferocious.
They seemed to want to break free from the wall and pounce on her.
She dared not look anymore and pointed the light of her mobile phone at the ground, illuminating only a small patch of road at her feet.
The smell of blood and decay became incredibly strong, filling her nasal cavity. She subconsciously covered her mouth and nose, enduring the discomfort, and continued to run forward.
Almost at the green iron gate.
She remembered the location.
Even in the pitch black, she remembered.
She looked forward to the sound of a 'click'. What if someone was living there today.
She also feared the sound of a 'click'.
She ran to the location of the gate.
Nothing happened.
No sound at all. Complete silence.
She subconsciously shone the light of her mobile phone on the gate.
It looked the same as it did during the day, but also a little different.
Through the gap in the door. Something was seeping out.
Dark red liquid, slowly flowing to the ground.
It was blood!
The strong smell of blood and decay rushed towards her, seemingly emanating from behind the door.
Just then.
She saw the gate shaking.
As if something inside was violently banging against the door, wanting to get out.
She screamed and ran forward with all her might.
The footsteps behind her chased relentlessly.
She felt like she was going crazy.
Where was the exit of the alley?
Why hadn't it arrived yet?
She screamed in her heart.
How did this alley become so long?
She must have run for more than seven or eight minutes.
It seemed like she would never reach the end.
The surrounding darkness seemed to be getting thicker and thicker.
The light
