Chi Yin dragged the children all the way back to her rental. She bumped into Old Li and, seeing the tear-streaked faces of the two children—yet noting they were unhurt and in one piece—she finally let out a sigh of relief. "Tell your grandpa: who took you away? And where is Auntie Li?" Old Li crouched down in front of Wanwan. Of the two children, Wanwan was the most articulate and sensible, and he hoped to get some information out of her. Wanwan pointed toward the Supply and Marketing Cooperative and said in a small, milky voice, "My sister and I wanted White Rabbit cream candies, so Auntie Li took us to buy some. We were sitting on the grass eating them when Auntie Li fell asleep. Then, our aunt came and took us away."
