As soon as the four of them entered the store, they saw that the floor space was vast. Sheng Xia made a quick estimate—there had to be at least thirty or forty counters. Each counter had its own dedicated salesperson, but with few customers around, the staff were all busy tending to their own affairs. Upon hearing movement at the entrance, hardly any of the salespeople even bothered to look up. Sheng Xia and her companions were already accustomed to such indifference; in the 1980s, salespeople were just that arrogant. Despite the non-existent service, Sheng Xia was pleasantly surprised. She had originally thought there wouldn't be much to see—having seen the massive shopping malls of the future—but she hadn't expected this imported department store to have so many counters. It was far more interesting than she had anticipated. "Come on, let's start looking from this side!" To the left and right of the entrance were the bicycle counter and the radio and cassette player counter. Since all three of them owned bicycles, they headed straight for the radio and cassette player counter.
