Chapter 23

This was the first time I had ever applied a talisman to a zombie's forehead, and the sensation was impossible to describe. I stretched my hand out toward the boy's forehead, and the talisman adhered to it as gently as if it were a magnet. Then, the boy froze in place. I knew I had succeeded. The talismans I drew actually worked.
