Chapter 8

Inside Tang Hao's room, two figures stood facing each other in silence, the atmosphere unusually heavy.
Surprise was impossible to hide in Bai Xiaoxi's eyes. How could she not have guessed that the seemingly ordinary man before her was actually a trained assassin?
Tang Hao's gaze revealed a cold edge as he warned in a low voice, "Everything you saw tonight must remain an absolute secret. Otherwise, the consequences will be severe." Though low, his voice was filled with unquestionable menace.
Bai Xiaoxi's heart trembled. She nodded hastily, promising not to leak a single word. She knew all too well just how terrifying it was to offend an assassin.
"Go back, and forget everything here," Tang Hao reminded her again, his tone carrying an unquestionable indifference.
Bai Xiaoxi nodded and hurried out of the room, which was filled with such a dangerous aura.
Tang Hao's identity had originally been extremely secretive; he never expected it to be stumbled upon by this accidentally trespassing girl. He grew inwardly alert, resolving to be much more careful in his actions from now on.
The suitcase contained the weapons and hidden projectiles indispensable to him during missions. The outer shell of the suitcase concealed ingenious mechanisms, allowing it to easily pass through security checks.
When executing assassinations, Tang Hao never used firearms, relying instead on these self-crafted hidden weapons to take lives.
Possessing astonishing imagination and creativity, he combined ancient Tang Sect techniques with certain overseas technologies to manufacture many unique and lethal hidden weapons.
These weapons came in great variety—needles, darts, flying daggers, and shuriken. Each had its own uniquely fatal aspect, and there were even some special, powerful hidden weapons among them.
Tang Hao only used these weapons when carrying out missions, and once they were deployed, it meant his target was bound to die without a doubt.
These hidden weapons were effective not only against ordinary people, but also possessed formidable lethality against cultivators—this was the fundamental reason he was able to establish a foothold overseas.
After casually toying with these hidden weapons for a while, Tang Hao tidied his bed and lay down to rest.
This night was destined to be another sleepless one.
Early the next morning, Tang Hao woke up early. Treading lightly as he stepped out of his room, he found that Jiang Wan and Bai Xiaoxi were not yet awake. Looking around, his gaze fell upon the refrigerator, so he walked over and began searching for food suitable for breakfast.
Time slipped quietly by. When the clock hands pointed past eight, the two ladies finally came downstairs. Seeing that Tang Hao was already sitting composedly on the living room sofa, Jiang Wan frowned slightly. Pointing toward the kitchen, she commanded in a tone tinged with authority, "Go prepare breakfast for us."
Tang Hao froze slightly, pointing at himself in confusion. In his understanding, a bodyguard's duties did not seem to include making breakfast.
Previously, when Steward Liu was around, breakfast after they woke up was always prepared promptly. But now that Steward Liu had left, Jiang Wan naturally wanted Tang Hao to take over the job.
Watching this scene, Bai Xiaoxi shook her head in helpless amusement. She felt Jiang Wan's demand was indeed a bit excessive; making a grown man like Tang Hao cook breakfast was certainly forcing things a bit too hard.
However, to everyone's surprise, Tang Hao simply walked into the kitchen of his own accord. Making breakfast, he figured, was no big deal—he could easily handle a Western-style meal.
Inside the kitchen, Tang Hao quickly found the ingredients he needed and set to work. Skillfully heating the pan and adding oil, he prepared a plate of bacon and scrambled eggs for each of them according to Western methods. Next, he fried two egg sandwiches and brewed two cups of specially made breakfast milk tea.
When Tang Hao brought the breakfast out to the coffee table in the living room, both Bai Xiaoxi and Jiang Wan widened their eyes in astonishment. They hadn't expected Tang Hao to actually make such a lavish breakfast, and it tasted quite good to boot.
"Wow, you're amazing! This is a Western breakfast!" Bai Xiaoxi exclaimed in admiration. Without another word, she eagerly began to taste the food.
Jiang Wan also sat down and joined Bai Xiaoxi in eating. As she ate her breakfast, she asked Tang Hao, "What is your name? What kind of position do you want in my company?"
"My real name is Tang Hao. I just want a simple position—anything that doesn't require much effort," Tang Hao answered honestly.
Jiang Wan pondered for a moment before saying, "Then you can be a security guard at the company. But don't worry, you'll be an internal guard, mainly responsible for the company's internal security, and I'll settle your salary directly."
"By the way, this breakfast is well made. Besides this, can you cook other proper dishes?" Jiang Wan asked with renewed curiosity.
"I learned this breakfast from a friend. For now, I only know how to make some simple breakfast items," Tang Hao replied truthfully.
After finishing breakfast, the group set off for Jiangshui Group.
Jiangshui Group was a large-scale company focusing on perfume, apparel, and real estate design. It gathered numerous top-tier talents and led the design trends of Jinghai City.
Outside the Jiangshui Group building, the clock had quietly ticked past nine.
The building's glass curtain wall gleamed brilliantly in the sunlight. From time to time, white-collar workers in formal attire hurried inside; they were the masters of this building and the backbone of this city.
Jiang Wan walked into the company lobby with hurried steps and quickly summoned the head of the security department. With a solemn expression and a decisive tone, she instructed, "Tang Hao will be appointed as an internal security guard. This is the company's decision."
Not daring to show the slightest negligence, the head of the security department nodded in agreement and immediately led Tang Hao toward the security department. There, Tang Hao completed his onboarding procedures and changed into a brand-new security uniform. From that moment on, he officially became a part of Jiangshui Group.
Meanwhile, Jiang Wan and Bai Xiaoxi had already settled into their office and begun a busy day of work. However, just as they were fully engrossed in their tasks, two uninvited guests broke into the company building.
Leading the way was a gaudily dressed woman wearing heavy makeup and revealing clothes, her every gesture exuding a seductive aura.
Behind her was a bald man with a fierce appearance, a gaze like knives, and a golden hoop hanging from one ear, adding an even more aggressive air to his demeanor.
"Baldy, this is the place," the seductive woman said in a honeyed, sugary voice. "You must help me. As long as I can get their company's secret formula, I certainly won't treat you poorly."
The bald man, whose real name was Xie Nan, was the owner of a loan company in Jinghai City. Though he ran legitimate businesses on the surface, he secretly engaged in illegal lending. Highly skilled in martial arts, he also had a group of trained thugs under his command specifically responsible for collecting debts for him.
This time, the seductive woman had sought him out, hoping he would use force to compel Jiang Wan to hand over the perfume formula. Naturally, Xie Nan was more than happy to oblige such a request.
The two smoothly bypassed the outer security checks and entered the Jiangshui Group building. Their every move was captured crystal clear by the surveillance cameras. The internal security guards quickly reported the situation to their patrolling colleagues.
These guards were not only responsible for maintaining the company's daily order, but were also the steadfast backing of the company's employees. Seeing at a glance that these two were harboring ill intentions, they decided to head upstairs to investigate. Should they spot any danger, they would take immediate action to protect the personnel inside the company.
Inside Jiang Wan's office, the atmosphere was tense and solemn. The seductive woman sat uninvited directly across from the desk, pulling two documents straight out of her bag—they were the perfume formulas from her own company.
"Jiang Wan, you should know why I'm here," she said bluntly. "I'm using these documents in exchange for your newly launched perfume secret formula. What do you think?" A cunning glint flashed in her eyes, as if everything was completely within her control.
Jiang Wan refused to yield an inch, her attitude resolute and decisive. "I've already said, we will not trade. Please leave." Her words conveyed strong dissatisfaction and disgust.
Yet the seductive woman had no intention of giving up just yet. She let out a contemptuous laugh. "Have you really thought this through? Take a look at the person with me—he's a man from the underworld. If anything were to happen to you, your formula and everything else would vanish into thin air."
The bald man, Xie Nan, spoke up at that moment as well. "Ms. Jiang, those who adapt to circumstances are wise. Hand over the formula, and I guarantee your safety. Otherwise, bear the consequences."
Jiang Wan bit her lower lip tightly, her anger having reached its absolute peak. Bai Xiaoxi, standing to one side, was likewise filled with righteous indignation. Both of them understood that this was a naked threat.
