Chapter 126

1,500 words8 minutes read

As the cycle of separation and reunion turns endlessly, sorrow and joy attack by turns." "To part with cherished things and beloved people is a vast and painful life lesson. If the end of this parting is already destined, we might as well strike up a brisk and cheerful tune." Yet what the Buddha truly meant was: All living beings ought to be carefree and untethered, accepting all of life's waxing and waning, of joy and sorrow. It is a pity, however, that mortals are merely ordinary people... not Buddhas.
