Seeing Wang Zhaojun like this, Fairy Zixia felt a pang of sympathy in her heart and hurriedly pulled her along. "Let's go! Let's walk around and stop thinking about these unhappy things. Another day, I'll take you to meet some other handsome men."
"When?" Wang Zhaojun raised her eyes slightly. She had few hobbies, but she loved appreciating all sorts of handsome men.
Pulling herself together slightly, she teased, "How is it that Fairy Zixia has the leisure to accompany me on a stroll?"
She raised an eyebrow and smiled mischievously, "Looking at your complexion, it's not looking too good. Could it be that you've had a falling out with the Demon King?"
Better if she hadn't said anything; the mere mention made Fairy Zixia ready to explode with anger.
"He actually dared to go to that kind of place!"
Fairy Zixia pointed her slender finger, grinding her teeth in hatred at the pleasure house not far away. That dead monkey actually dared to go behind her back to look for women!
Wang Zhaojun found it somewhat amusing and soothed her, "Don't overthink it. He must have something to do. In the Six Realms, who doesn't know that the Demon King dotes on you the most?"
That was true, but Zixia's heart felt out of balance—he hadn't explained anything to her.
"If he dares to look for women behind my back, he's done for!" Zixia lifted her chin, fuming.
Wang Zhaojun smiled without a word, a faint trace of envy in the depths of her eyes.
On the other side, Han Xin meticulously bandaged Daji's scraped palm, asking softly, "Does it still hurt?"
Daji gazed at Han Xin's handsome and refined countenance, ripples of tenderness welling up in her eyes. "It doesn't hurt anymore, Daji. She didn't push me; Lord Shaojun wronged her."
A cold curve touched the corner of Han Xin's mouth as he considerately blew on Daji's wound. The depths of his gaze held an unfathomable meaning, and he said calmly, "I know."
"If you knew, why did you deliberately wrong her?" Daji was completely baffled. Why would Lord Shaojun do such a thing? He wasn't an unreasonable person.
Han Xin did not answer. Instead, he turned his head to the side, the bitter smile at the corner of his mouth growing more pronounced, while his eyes held an imperceptible pain.
The Dragon Clan.
"Rebellious son! Day and night you do nothing but mess around with this little vixen. Don't forget you are a man with a betrothal."
The Lord of the Dragon Domain glared coldly at Daji, causing her to shrink back timidly behind Han Xin.
Han Xin tilted his head slightly, a faint chill in his eyes. "You frightened her."
Pointing at Han Xin in exasperation, the Lord of the Dragon Domain cursed, "Do you believe I'll reduce her to ashes right now?!"
"You dare?" Han Xin met the Lord of the Dragon Domain's sharp gaze without the slightest sign of weakness.
"Han Xin, oh Han Xin! I never expected that for the sake of this vixen, you would dare speak to your old man like this!" The Lord of the Dragon Domain glared fiercely at Daji once more, the fire in his heart surging upward.
Channeling energy into his palm, he struck out toward Daji's face. Had the blow landed, it would have been fatal or severely disabling.
Han Xin's pupils constricted. Without offering any resistance, he pulled Daji directly into his arms and took the full force of the blow.
Staggering back several steps, Han Xin spat a mouthful of fresh blood. He met the Lord of the Dragon Domain's cold gaze with calm eyes and curled his lips slightly. "If you harm her, kill me first."
Daji supported Han Xin's arm with a heart full of distress, crystal tears shimmering in her eyes. "Lord Shaojun, are you alright? It's all Daji's fault! I'm sorry... I'm sorry!"
"I'm fine, don't worry. This has nothing to do with you, don't blame yourself." Han Xin gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Don't think that just because you're my son, there's nothing I can do to you!" The Lord of the Dragon Domain glanced coldly at Han Xin, then glared at Daji and said harshly, "A mere little fox demon dares to bewitch the Young Lord of the Dragon Clan—you've got some nerve!"
Furious as he was, the Lord of the Dragon Domain no longer intended to harm Daji; after all, disobedient son or not, he was still his son. Huffing angrily, he turned and left.
Sun Wukong ran around anxiously, searching all day until he finally spotted Zixia. He called out to her, "Zixia, what's wrong with you? How could you just leave without a word?"
"Demon King, you've really grown bolder, haven't you? Back when you got together with Zixia, you said you wouldn't let her suffer any harm, and now you treat her like this." Wang Zhaojun gazed solemnly at Sun Wukong, an imperceptible hint of amusement lurking deep in her eyes.
"Fairy Zhaojun speaks too seriously. When have I ever let Zixia suffer harm?" Sun Wukong's eyes were filled with confusion. What heinous crime had he supposedly committed?
Wang Zhaojun crossed her arms and teased, "I heard you went behind Zixia's back to visit one of those pleasure houses. Is that true?"
"That is indeed true!" Sun Wukong slapped his forehead in sudden realization. So that was why Zixia was refusing to speak to him!
She had been fine before, but upon hearing Sun Wukong's answer, a dangerous gleam flashed in Fairy Zixia's eyes as she shouted, "Sun Wukong, you bastard!"
"Zixia, listen to my explanation!"
Seeing Zixia's stance, Sun Wukong instantly panicked and hurried forward to explain, "It's just that recently the Blood Clan has repeatedly invaded our Demon Realm, and I went to meet a friend to discuss countermeasures."
"Is that true?" Zixia lifted her chin proudly, giving Sun Wukong a huffy sideways glance.
"Absolute truth!"
Seeing a turning point, Sun Wukong quickly stepped forward to coax her. "So, is Zixia willing to forgive me?"
Zixia didn't answer. Instead, she turned her head toward Wang Zhaojun and asked, "Zhaojun, tell me, should this fairy forgive this bastard?"
Hearing this, Sun Wukong immediately swept his gaze toward Wang Zhaojun with a fierce expression.
Intimidation? Wang Zhaojun offered a humorless smile and chimed in, "Looking at his attitude of repentance, it doesn't look like much. Better not forgive him just yet."
Realizing Wang Zhaojun was saying this on purpose, Sun Wukong felt like crying without tears. He could only cast a pitiful, pleading look toward Wang Zhaojun, hoping she would put in a good word.
Wang Zhaojun was somewhat taken aback. She hadn't expected that the King of All Demons in one of the realms would actually cast aside his pride in the face of love. Sure enough, men caught in the net of romance had truly low IQs—Zixia was obviously already ready to forgive him.
The corners of Wang Zhaojun's lips curved slightly as she looked toward Zixia and said softly, "If you want to forgive him, then forgive him."
Wang Zhaojun understood Zixia's temper: she cared too much about her pride. Clearly, upon hearing Sun Wukong's explanation, she was overjoyed inside, yet she put on a haughty act of utter indifference.
"Then this fairy will magnanimously forgive you!" Zixia turned her face away coyly, not wanting Sun Wukong to see her expression at that moment.
Seeing her look, a sweet smile bloomed at the corners of Sun Wukong's mouth. He reached out to wrap his arm around her waist and said gently, "Let's go, let's head home."
Zixia's face was now red enough to drip water as she cast a shy, reproachful glance at Sun Wukong.
Watching the two of them walking farther and farther away, Wang Zhaojun let out a light remark: "You can't just play me like this!" Then, seeming to remember something, she turned her head and muttered, "Didn't you agree to accompany me on a shopping trip?"
A gust of wind swept by, followed by a creeping chill. Wang Zhaojun pulled her thin robe tighter around herself.
Wang Zhaojun narrowed her eyes, gazing at the bustling Fairy Sound Pavilion not far away. Her eyes rolled, the corners of her lips curving upward—she had never witnessed what it looked like inside.
Yet, she stood in the drafty wind for a long time, showing neither any intention of stepping forward nor any desire to turn back.
"Should I go or not?" Wang Zhaojun debated with herself.
After pondering for a long time, she figured that since idleness was idleness, she might as well go have some fun. Having made up her mind, Wang Zhaojun couldn't help laughing. She suddenly remembered that if her master found out, a thorough scolding was inevitable.
With a shake of her body, Wang Zhaojun transformed into a dashing and handsome young master. With a snap, she unfolded the folding fan in her hand, the fan face painted with a landscape scroll. Adjusting the hem of her robes, she strode boldly into the pleasure house, imitating the swagger of a man.
