Theresa said, "Since you've joined St. Freya Academy, remember to prepare for tomorrow's entrance assessment. While your scores don't matter too much, I still hope you can showcase your unique traits." With that, she left.
She left behind a helpless Lin Kaslana. Zhang Lin thought to himself, *How can I have any confidence when I can't even use this body's original abilities? I'm so unlucky. I just hope tomorrow doesn't involve physical testing—a written exam would be great, seeing as I'm a straight-A student.*
That night, Zhang Lin left the ward and began wandering around the academy. *True to its name, St. Freya Academy is much larger than an ordinary school. Even this fountain looks exactly like the one I saw in the game before, and these buildings and training grounds are identical too,* Zhang Lin sighed inwardly. *"If not for the threat of the Honkai, I'd really love to spend a good time living here."*
Early the next morning, Yinyu called out, "Big bro, time to wake up."
"Got it," Lin Kaslana replied impatiently.
Lin Xie, standing beside Yinyu, said, "We have a combat test today. Do you have any confidence of passing?"
Zhang Lin thought miserably, *Why am I this unlucky? Out of everything, it just had to be a combat test.*
Upon arriving at the testing ground, Zhang Lin felt as though he had instantly been transported to another place. Before he even had time to think, a Spitter-class Honkai beast lunged out, closely followed by a Chariot-class Honkai beast, scaring Zhang Lin into turning and fleeing immediately.
In contrast, over at another testing area, Lin Xie dispatched his opponent in a mere minute. Yinyu simply channeled energy into the silver spear in her hand and hurled it straight at a Honkai beast's head, piercing right through it. The other Honkai beast was hoisted into mid-air by Yinyu and then slammed fiercely into the ground, shattering into pieces.
When the test ended, Zhang Lin and his companions returned to the classroom. During the lesson, Zhang Lin discovered that his teacher was actually Himeko, which meant he was in the same class as the main characters of Honkai Impact 3.
In the afternoon, during History class, Welt was lecturing when he noticed Lin Kaslana and Kiana fast asleep. He walked over, hauled both of them to the back of the room to stand as punishment, and casually quizzed Lin Kaslana on a history question: "What was the product of the previous civilization?" Kiana, standing nearby, felt intensely grateful that she hadn't been called on.
Unexpectedly, Zhang Lin answered, "Relics—weapons series based on relics."
Welt said, "Correct, but that doesn't give you the right to sleep in class."
Zhang Lin replied, "It's mostly because the history class is too boring, which is why I fell asleep."
Welt then asked Kiana beside him if she felt the same way, before dropping the subject and saying no more.
That night, Yinyu said, "Big bro, not bad at all! I didn't expect you to know so much about history, especially since you were sleeping through it. I'm getting a little curious about the entrance test results tomorrow."
The next morning, Kiana declared, "Let's see if this young lady is number one!"
First place went to Fu Hua, second place to Raiden Mei and Lin Xie, and third place to Bronya Zaychik and Yinyu.
"Well, this young lady has a special spot all to herself," Kiana muttered.
Bronya stated, "Failing grades: Kiana and Lin Kaslana, who was standing as punishment with you yesterday."
"Failing grades?!" Zhang Lin and Kiana cried out in simultaneous confusion. "Why?!"
Welt explained, "One got 20 points on the physical test, and the other failed the exam—how could either of you possibly pass?"
Yinyu cautiously spoke to the young girl beside her, "So your name is Bronya. Now I know your name. How about we become friends?"
Bronya didn't answer, but Yinyu cheerfully added, "Silence means you agree. Nice to meet you."
