Chapter 16

"This is my exclusive secret recipe, and you definitely can't buy it outside. If you like eating it, I can bring you another portion next time, but you must keep my business with your young lady a secret."
"No problem, I promise you."
Xiaolü agreed to his proposal without the slightest hesitation. One reason was simply that the food Yue Jingchi brought was too delicious—so delicious it made her want to cry. As for the other reason, she was the personal maid of the young lady, and since her young lady had explicitly told her not to go around talking nonsense, she naturally had to obey. That being the case, she might as well agree to this human's proposal; at the very least, she would still get to eat good food.
Just as she was pressing Yue Jingchi to ask what other delicious things he could make, the door was pushed open once more, and the person who walked in was none other than Lilina.
Seeing her, Xiaolü hurriedly scrambled down from the stone stool and stood to the side with her hands folded.
"Young lady..."
"What are you doing here?"
"I was just getting ready to tidy your room when I happened to run into this gentleman," Xiaolü answered honestly.
"Then you go ahead and clean up slowly, Xiaolü." Lilina nodded and said.
Afterward, she took a slightly yellowed piece of paper from the drawer and placed it on the table.
"In a few hours, take this and show it to my mother. Make sure you don't say when I left—just act like you only just found it."
"Young lady, are you going out? But master told you to stay properly at home for a few days. If he finds out, he'll definitely be angry."
"What is there to be afraid of? Anyway, he's my own father and he can't do anything to me. The worst that can happen is I get grounded again after I get back." Lilina waved her hand dismissively.
Yue Jingchi thought to himself that she really was a girl who loved to play.
Xiaolü looked as though she still had more to say, but Lilina impatiently waved her hand to cut her off.
"All right, say no more. Go to the back door for me and check if anyone is around, then remember to come back and tell me."
"Understood, young lady..." Xiaolü acknowledged and walked out of the room.
After confirming that no one was near the back door, Lilina grabbed Yue Jingchi's hand and sprinted out quickly.
Lilina's little hand was soft and her skin was smooth, feeling very comfortable to the touch. Yue Jingchi was completely immersed in the sensation, unable to extricate himself. She was arguably the most beautiful girl he had ever met, and perhaps due to her race, she possessed an added touch of charm. Every smile and every glance was utterly captivating. Even the female celebrities of Daxia were nothing compared to her.
"We finally escaped! This feeling of freedom is wonderful." Lilina looked up at the sky, her mood exceptionally bright and carefree.
"Do your family usually keep you on a tight leash?"
"Yeah, my father always wants me to stay honestly at home and learn how to run a business, but I have no interest in that at all." Lilina made a bitter face and answered honestly.
"All right, Big Brother Yue, this isn't the place to talk. Let's hurry out of the city; otherwise, if my mother finds out, we might get dragged back." Lilina grabbed his hand again and headed toward the city gates.
Naturally, Yue Jingchi had no intention of refusing. With such an peerless beauty, he was more than eager for a bit more physical contact.
The two soon reached the city gates, and the guards let them pass out of the city without giving them a hard time. They still recognized Lilina as a great beauty, and wealthy, powerful Orcs like her were not people ordinary guards like them could afford to offend.
Once outside the city gates, Lilina looked around as if searching for something.
"What are you looking for?"
"Horses for the journey, of course. Big Brother Yue, you surely weren't planning on walking there on your two legs, were you?"
"What's wrong? Is that not allowed?"
"If you want mountain goods, although there are some in the nearby mountains, the quantity and quality definitely won't be good. I recommend you go a bit further to Qingfeng Mountain—that's a much better choice. But since you didn't bring any horses, it looks like we won't be able to go after all."
Hearing her words, Yue Jingchi immediately had an idea, and he asked, "Do you know where Qingfeng Mountain is?"
"Of course I do. When I was little and the family wasn't this wealthy, my father used to take me there to play all the time."
"Knowing the way makes things easy. Then let's just head over there."
"But the journey is quite long. Even with horses, it would take two days."
"Don't worry. Although I don't have horses right now, I have something much faster." Yue Jingchi said with a mysterious expression.
After that, no matter how much Lilina questioned him, he kept his lips sealed, leaving her with no choice but to give up.
Once they were some distance from the city gates, Yue Jingchi retrieved an off-road motorcycle from the Transfer Space. Although he didn't drive cars, a motorcycle was no problem at all. When he was a kid, he had been bold enough to ride his dad's motorcycle everywhere, so he was naturally quite familiar with it. After he came into money, the very first thing Yue Jingchi had bought was an off-road motorcycle to keep in his inventory, specifically for traveling in places like this.
"This thing looks so strange." Lilina curiously reached out to touch it. The texture was cold and smooth, not at all like something alive.
The off-road motorcycle was painted in a contrasting mix of black and red, looking exceptionally domineering. Both its performance and appearance were top-tier; Yue Jingchi had spent quite a tidy sum to buy it.
"Hop on. Let me show you what the speed of the wind feels like." Yue Jingchi smiled and reached out a hand to her, then gave a slight pull to seat Lilina right behind him.
"Take this helmet and put it on. The ground here is bumpy, and safety comes first." Yue Jingchi placed a cute helmet with rabbit ears onto her head, and it actually fit her quite well.
Just as he said, riding a motorcycle here required extra caution; otherwise, what would happen if a single mistake resulted in Lilina getting disfigured? That would be far too much of a pity.
"You'd better hold onto me tightly, or you might get shaken off later."
"Oh, okay." Lilina nodded offhandedly. In her view, no matter how fast this thing was, it couldn't possibly outrun a fine steed. If Yue Jingchi weren't practically an immortal in her eyes, she wouldn't even have believed that a lifeless object like this could move at all.
"Then we're off!"
With that, Yue Jingchi urged the motorcycle forward and shot ahead.
The immense inertia caused Lilina to instinctively wrap her arms around his waist, pressing her body tightly against his back. The soft, pillowy sensation felt wonderfully comfortable to Yue Jingchi. If the situation allowed, he would have loved to reach back and test out those magnificent proportions for himself.
