Chapter 13

These were simple dishes, yet the Skyscreen seemed to do it on purpose, zooming in on the food in the First Emperor’s hands with such high definition that the rising steam was clearly visible.
Liu Bang, tempted once again, could hold back no longer. He ordered his men to find the sorcerers and make them establish contact with the heavens as quickly as possible.
The later generations were better off; technology was far more advanced than in earlier dynasties, and things like flour were already available. Some who were teased by the sight simply went out to buy meat buns, eating them while watching the Skyscreen—it made for a perfect side dish.
That day, the sales of steamed buns surged dramatically.
Ying Zheng, unaware that he had sparked a shopping craze, finished his meal. After ensuring there was no lingering taste in his mouth, he began to ask about the things that troubled him. After he returned, he would consult with his ministers in detail. Having realized that the Skyscreen did not show everything, he had long wanted to know the meaning of the screenwriter’s words from that day, but had never found the opportunity.
"Little Immortal," Ying Zheng began, his expression composed. "I wish to know the history of the Great Qin."
Zhu Yu had just finished a task when Ying Zheng suddenly interjected. Caught off guard, she asked, "What?"
So, Ying Zheng patiently repeated his question.
Hearing the First Emperor’s request, the people of all dynasties pricked up their ears, setting aside whatever they were doing. They wanted to see the First Emperor’s reaction once he learned that history.
"Tsk tsk, the First Emperor definitely knows what the Skyscreen will and won't show." Otherwise, how could he ever let the commoners know about such a shameful history?
Liu Bang smirked, shouting toward the Skyscreen: "Little Immortal, just tell him! Let the First Emperor see his own useless, kingdom-ruining son!"
The royals of the Great Qin in the Qin Dynasty plane were also waiting in anticipation. They didn't believe they would die at the hands of someone like Huhai—it had to be that Xiang Yu! It had to be the remnants of the Six States!
At this moment, the system detected that the popularity of the livestream had risen significantly, and it felt very pleased.
Zhu Yu had not expected Ying Zheng to ask this. Her first reaction was: "You already know."
You know this isn't the Immortal Realm.
Ying Zheng understood her subtext and nodded. "But you must be a Little Immortal; otherwise, how would I have come here?"
He had already judged that this was the future, yet he remained firm in the belief that Zhu Yu was a Little Immortal. Otherwise, there was no way to explain how an ordinary person could bring him to the future, or how a regular person could create something like that Skyscreen hanging in the sky. It was impossible.
Seen in this light, Zhu Yu was the only one he needed to respect; everyone else was merely a mortal. This brought a sense of peace to the First Emperor’s heart. It seemed that achieving immortality was not something everyone could attain.
Zhu Yu was unaware of the First Emperor’s internal deliberations and assumed he had figured it out. "Since you know, just call me A'yu."
The First Emperor calmly changed his address: "A'yu."
Zhu Yu said, "I know you want to know why the Qin Dynasty fell, Brother Zheng. Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten most of what I learned in school, so why don’t I find you a video to watch?"
Ying Zheng nodded.
Soon, Zhu Yu downloaded several videos explaining the factors behind the fall of the Qin Dynasty so that he could watch them even if the internet went down.
Once he had the phone, Ying Zheng immediately locked himself in the restroom. The people in the Great Qin plane didn't know what he was seeing, and those in later dynasties felt a twinge of regret that they couldn't witness the First Emperor’s reaction.
Zhu Yu was a bit uneasy. She knew how much Ying Zheng valued the Great Qin. Knowing how the kingdom he built with his own hands had been destroyed would be a massive blow—especially his own death, the backstabbing by Li Si at the critical moment, and the sudden collapse of the Great Qin. She worried that Brother Zheng might become too enraged and suffer an accident.
"System, can you check on Brother Zheng? Is he okay?"
[Host, please rest assured. The system is responsible for the safety of the workers we bring in. Aside from feeling a bit unsettled, the First Emperor is doing just fine.]
Was Ying Zheng fine? Of course, he was not.
He had been in a state of fury the moment he saw Li Si colluding with Zhao Gao and Huhai to forge the imperial edict. *How dare these rats!*
It was a pity he couldn't do anything about it. Then, he saw Fusu commit suicide, and Meng Tian, Meng Yi, and other ministers being forced to their deaths. He watched that eunuch Zhao Gao rise to Chancellor and the trash that was Huhai being played like a puppet.
The next point of explosion was when Huhai sat on the throne. Killing Fusu was one thing—at least there was a pretext—but what crimes had the other princes and princesses committed?
Ying Zheng’s heart was filled with killing intent. *What a way to wipe out one’s own lineage! So this is how it was destroyed from within!*
The thought that his empire had been ruined by such refuse filled him with deep resentment. Later, the uprisings of Chen Sheng and Wu Guang, and Zhang Han being tasked with saving the day, only for him to fail—the initial blows were already enough, and by the time he saw Ziying surrender and the Qin Dynasty vanish, his emotional volatility was, surprisingly, relatively normal compared to the earlier shocks.
After that video, Ying Zheng watched several others about the causes of the Qin Dynasty’s collapse, all of which were very detailed.
About an hour later, Ying Zheng walked out of the restroom with a steady gait, his face as calm as ever, his breathing even.
"Brother Zheng, are you okay?" Zhu Yu asked, worried.
At this moment, many commoners were staring intently at the First Emperor’s face, hoping to see what expression he might show, but they were all disappointed. The First Emperor’s expression hadn't changed; he was extremely composed. Liu Bang was the most disappointed, as it was his Han that followed Qin. The people of Great Qin, meanwhile, were frantic, all dying to know what their Majesty had seen—who was this Xiang Yu?
"Thank you for your concern, A'yu," Ying Zheng shook his head, indicating he was fine.
Zhu Yu took back her phone and, still uneasy, asked the system about the First Emperor’s mental state. Finding that he was indeed very calm, she was quite surprised. She couldn't help but admire him.
Brother Zheng was truly incredible. Even something like that couldn't shake his spirit, or rather, he could recover so quickly—he was truly an emperor for the ages!
Having received his first answer, Ying Zheng asked a second: "Why can the scripts the Little Immortal gave me be taken back, but the fan cannot?" He had been planning to take it back to show his ministers.
Zhu Yu replied, "It's overweight."
Ying Zheng was puzzled.
Zhu Yu then explained: one could only bring back 500g of items at a time. If he wanted to bring back more, it was no problem—he just had to work more to earn money.
So that was it. Ying Zheng understood.
In the afternoon, Assistant Fang came to take them to the set. Ying Zheng intended to finish filming this series quickly so he could work and earn money himself. The Great Qin needed development, and it needed more resources to grow—especially now that he knew the various causes of Qin's fall, those problems seemed all the more pressing.
However, during the final scene of the day, Ying Zheng watched as the lead actor and actress kept missing their marks and wasting time. Unconsciously, he began to project a chilling aura, the presence of a true monarch enveloping everyone around him. As a result, the actors became nervous, and their performances grew even more unstable.
Zhu Yu rubbed her nose awkwardly, ignoring the director’s resentful glances. It seemed that having too much talent in an actor could be a drawback, too.
The scene was filmed with extreme difficulty. By then, the sun was setting, and the crew began packing up for the night shoot. Ying Zheng had no more scenes for the day. Just as Zhu Yu was about to take him back, someone called out to them.
It wasn't for her, but for Ying Zheng.
The lead actress, Jiang Bei, followed them, insisting on adding Ying Zheng’s contact information. "Brother Zheng, your acting just now was so good! Even I was frightened—you’re amazing."
"Let’s add each other. I want to learn more from you."
