Chapter 41

Outside the door, Mu Tingshen regretted that his impulsiveness had frightened her. Shen Xingling had not come out for a long time. Mu Tingshen went to the guest bedroom to shower. Twenty minutes later, he returned to the master bedroom, but there was still no sign of Shen Xingling. He walked over to the bathroom door and only after hearing the sound of running water was he certain she had not left the room. Mu Tingshen sat on the bed with his legs crossed, a laptop on his lap, and glasses on his face, head bowed as he worked. An hour passed; it was nearly 1:30 in the morning. Shen Xingling still showed no intention of coming out. Mu Tingshen recalled their wedding night, when she had spent two hours in the bathroom, so he didn't urge her to come out to sleep.
