My heart skipped a beat. I closed my eyes and concentrated; sure enough, I could make out a faint, different kind of reflection from the wet patches on the ground, stretching all the way into the darkness ahead.
I steadied my breathing, followed that faint reflection into the darkness, and tried to step as lightly as possible. After all, this unknown darkness was perilous, and I had no idea what lay ahead.
I walked for I don't know how long before I suddenly felt a change in the walls on either side. This time, there were traces of human construction.
