He Qian simply gave a cool reply, but Pei Mingze's gaze kept drifting toward Shen Niantang with an unreadable expression. Shen Niantang stood in the sunlight, the wisps of hair across her forehead fluttering in the breeze. Her petite frame made the standard-issue physical training uniform look sharp and exquisite. Today, the sunlight seemed especially fond of her. Shen Niantang returned to the office with He Qian, and the two of them briefly mapped out the details for the afternoon's various tasks. Time slipped away without them noticing until He Qian looked up once more to find only the warm, orange glow of the setting sun outside the windows.
