This poem was originally "Song of the Pass of Yanmen", written by the Tang Dynasty poet Li He using a traditional Yuefu theme.
Only here, it had been renamed by Ye Tian as the "Song of General Canglan".
"Canglan" represented Canglan City, the border fortress of Da Qian.
