This sudden turn of events left her dumbfounded, paralyzed as a wooden chicken for a time. The elaborate set of explanations she had long prepared regarding the cause of Liu Fu's death was now stuck in her throat, refusing to come out no matter what. She could only stammer incoherently, "He... he... ate their tofu pudding... and then he collapsed..."
