Chapter 92

1,207 words6 minutes read

Two days had passed since An Jing used the Chongming Sword Box to kill the white-robed scholar and shake off the Demon Sect’s flying shuttle. During these two days, An Jing had not traveled at full speed. Instead, he moved intermittently, observing the surrounding terrain to scout for a suitable location. He did not rashly enter any villages, nor did he retreat to the Tianyuan realm. He avoided the villages because he was no fool; if a strange youth appeared in a hamlet deep within these mountains, even a dim-witted Demon Sect member could track him down. Furthermore, any village thriving in such a remote wilderness might well be a nest for the sect. As for the Tianyuan realm, An Jing was not in any immediate, life-threatening danger, and he was unwilling to leave himself vulnerable by triggering the three-day cooldown of the Taixu passage while he faced hidden crises. He did not flee at maximum speed because he wanted to see if the Demon Sect had other means to catch up. His intuition was correct—he sensed that someone was indeed closing in, stalking him from behind, ready to strike at any moment.
