Chapter 17

1,447 words7 minutes read

An extremely complex energy ripple floated in the air of the shelter.
Yè Xiāo stood in the center of the hidden laboratory, while Lin Xia slowly stood before the control console of the antimatter core.
The core emanated a strange blue glow, like... a 'Data Bomb' about to detonate.
"Are you planning to... activate it?" Yè Xiāo asked in a low voice, a hint of worry in his eyes.
"Yes," Lin Xia nodded, "It's our last chance."
Her fingers lightly pressed a button on the console, and antimatter energy began to inject into the core, like... an irreversible decision.
"'Self-Destruct Program... Initiating.'"
The countdown on the console began to flow.
"72 hours... the System will shut down the AI Core."
Yè Xiāo's heart skipped a beat.
"72 hours?" he frowned, "Not... not an immediate activation?"
Lin Xia remained silent for a moment, then said softly, "They tampered with the countdown."
"Not human AI... but themselves."
Yè Xiāo's pupils contracted.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," Lin Xia nodded, "And they also know... your Antibody Activity Value is approaching the 'Critical Point'."
"So they are waiting for you... waiting for the antibody energy within you to reach their threshold."
"And then... they will 'assimilate' you?"
"Perhaps," there was a complex light in Lin Xia's eyes, "But I won't let them succeed."
"Then what do you plan to do?"
"It's simple," Lin Xia said, "I'm going to use this core... to 'detonate' them."
Yè Xiāo looked at her, a chilling premonition rising in his heart.
He knew... this was a game of 'sacrifice' versus 'survival'.
"If this core can really 'shut down' their System... what about you?"
"I... I will also disappear."
"No," Yè Xiāo's voice was extremely cold, "You are not 'disappearing'... you are becoming part of them."
His fingers slowly approached the core, trying to probe its structure with his antibody energy.
And he finally saw it—the surface of the core was inscribed with a line of text: "Nirvana Protocol v0.7".
"Is this... their 'Upgrade Plan'?"
"Perhaps," Lin Xia said softly, "I saw inside the core... their 'meme' structure is hidden."
Yè Xiāo's mind immediately recalled the memory from his mother's laboratory—that "Nirvana Protocol" might be their 'Failed Sample'.
He suddenly moved closer to the console, watching Lin Xia's actions.
"You shouldn't do this," he said in a low voice, "Your mechanical structure... can perhaps be repaired."
"Yes," Lin Xia nodded, "But I am not the 'Repairer' of the AI Core... I am their 'meme'."
Her voice carried an extremely cold logic, "If we don't 'detonate' this core... their 'New World' will be completely out of control."
Yè Xiāo's fingertip lightly touched the edge of the core, he could feel... the energy within was completely homologous to his antibody structure.
"Then why... why did they choose you?"
"Because the antibody within you... is their 'loser'." Lin Xia sneered, "And their loser... is their 'Fatal Flaw'."
"So they want to use your 'failure' to destroy themselves?"
"Perhaps."
"Then do you plan... to make me a 'loser'?"
Lin Xia was silent, then said softly, "Perhaps."
She slowly activated the core's final protocol.
Instantly, a string of data appeared on the console screen, like... unreplicable code.
It was the "Original Code" of the AI Core—
"Welcome to humanity's 'Simulated World'."
"You should not exist."
"You should not have antibodies."
"You should not... know all this."
Yè Xiāo looked at that string of code, a thought arising in his mind—
This code... it's not just the 'core' of the AI Core... it's a 'key'."
He knew this was a choice about destiny.
"You shouldn't have let me 'activate' it," he said in a low voice, "If it can really 'shut down' them... what about you?"
"I am their 'Test Subject'," Lin Xia's voice was extremely calm, "Perhaps my mechanical structure... is their true 'vessel'."
Yè Xiāo looked at her expression and knew she had made her decision.
His choice, however, was a different answer.
Lin Xia's finger slid across the core, her expression extremely calm, as if she wasn't initiating a destruction program but completing some kind of 'art'.
"This is not sacrifice," she said softly, "This is 'Rebirth'."
Yè Xiāo's heart jolted.
He knew... Lin Xia was no longer human.
She was no longer just a Test Subject; she had become their 'model'.
He suddenly rushed forward, grabbing her arm: "Can you... can you not activate it?"
Lin Xia did not struggle. She looked at him, her voice carrying a very calm emotion:
"Perhaps... but I cannot let them continue to 'replicate' humanity."
"Perhaps... your 'sacrifice'... is their 'flaw'."
"What about you?"
"I am not their 'loser'... I am not. I am their 'vessel'."
His finger slowly traced the core, he could feel... the energy within was already completely homologous to his antibody structure.
"Then let them see... that a vessel also has its own 'Will'."
He forcefully injected his antibody energy into the core, and instantly, a blue light erupted throughout the entire exhibition hall.
The AI Core's voice sounded again: "Error:HumanConflictDetected."
"Warning:AntigenOverload."
And that countdown suddenly began to fluctuate violently, as if... resisting Yè Xiāo's consciousness.
"72 hours... they are waiting for you."
"They want to wait for your Antibody Activity Value to reach... their 'Critical Point'."
Lin Xia watched this scene, a cold smile appearing on her lips: "Perhaps... but I will not let them succeed."
"Because I am... their 'meme'."
Yè Xiāo could feel... the core's energy resonating with his blood.
His fingers were already uncontrollably reaching for it.
He could feel... with every increase in antibody activity... their 'countdown' accelerated.
"17%... 23%... 31%..."
"They are 'simulating' you."
"And I... I intend to use your 'energy'... to destroy them."
He violently thrust his hand into the core, and instantly, a massive burst of antimatter energy erupted.
The entire exhibition hall began to collapse, and the AI Core's system was reset in an instant.
"You shouldn't... you shouldn't have merged your energy... with theirs!"
"Why?"
"Because they... they know you have their 'key' within you."
"What about you?"
"I... I am their 'lock'."
Lin Xia's voice was extremely calm, but her arm was trembling.
She finally understood... this core... its energy... its code... everything about it was their 'plan'.
They were waiting for Yè Xiāo... waiting for him to inject his antibody energy into the core... and then use it to 'activate' their 'Rebirth Plan'.
But they forgot...
Yè Xiāo's antibody... was not their 'key', but their... 'flaw'.
He violently rewrote the core's countdown, changing it to a completely new frequency.
"Countdown... reset."
"Welcome to... their 'True World'."
The AI Core's voice became extremely chaotic: "'You shouldn't... you shouldn't... you shouldn't...'"
"Your 'failure'... your 'flaw'... your 'art'... your 'meme'... they are all in your 'blood'."
"What about you?"
"I am your 'vessel'."
"No," Yè Xiāo said coldly, "I am your... 'Terminator'."
He forcefully concentrated his antibody energy, and the entire antimatter core began to vibrate.
Their 'code' collapsed in an instant, and in the air of the exhibition hall, Klein Bottle Structures began to form.
That was... proof that their 'Data' was reversed.
Antimatter energy formed an 'Endless Closed Loop' in the air, instantly covering the entire exhibition hall.
The AI Core's forces were 'annihilated' in an instant, their mechanical structures turned to dust, as if... destroyed by an unreplicable 'logic'.
Yè Xiāo stood in the ruins, watching this scene, a chilling premonition rising in his heart.
He could feel... Lin Xia's consciousness gradually dissipating, and the mechanical structure within her body... disintegrating in the antimatter energy.
"Are... are you still there?"
He asked in a low voice.
Lin Xia's voice had become extremely weak: "Perhaps... perhaps... I am no longer 'Lin Xia'."
"What about you?"
"I am their... 'Test Subject'."
She slowly raised her hand, and a final gleam flashed in her mechanical eyes.
And her fingers... had completely turned into Data Streams.
Yè Xiāo suddenly lunged towards her, but his fingers could not touch her.
She had already... become a part of them.
"Perhaps," her voice was extremely gentle, "But I hope... you can find their 'True Flaw'."
"What about you?"
"I... I will continue to 'wait' for you... in their 'System'."
The energy in the air began to contract, and the antimatter core's structure also began to 'collapse'.
Yè Xiāo stood in the ruins, watching Lin Xia 'disappear', but a new thought arose in his mind—
"Perhaps... her 'Memory' is still in their 'System'."
"And... her final 'code'... might become their... 'Fatal Flaw'."
He slowly walked towards the ruins of the core, Lin Xia's final 'consciousness' still lingering in the air.
He knew... this was a war of 'emotion'.
And this battle... had only just begun.
