Qufei chanted as he walked, strolling leisurely with a relaxed gait. With every step he took, a golden lotus would flash beneath his feet. By the time he reached Jiushou, his imposing aura had shifted abruptly, turning as sharp as a drawn sword.
The Buddha Sect had always emphasized rectitude and brilliance, and the techniques they used naturally carried the compassion of the Buddhist path. Yet though Qufei was currently wreathed in golden light, a towering, palpable intent to kill leaked freely outward, causing Li Qiu and the others to secretly frown.
Qufei, however, acted as if he had not a care in the world. He strode forward and, upon seeing the giant alms bowl suspended in mid-air confronting that torrential green river, let out a thunderous shout. Seven golden lotus flowers blossomed beneath his feet, and the monk leaped up into the air in a single bound. Paying no mind to the torrential river whatsoever, he chanted some unknown Buddhist true mantra. Every single word was audible to Li Qiu and the others, yet none of them could comprehend a single syllable. Li Qiu guessed it must be some profound Buddhist doctrine regarding the subjugation of demons and elimination of monsters.
