Perhaps because he slept too soundly last night, when Wáng Jùnjié woke up, the sun was already baking the beach with heat. After a quick wash with seawater and a look around, he estimated it was close to noon. Fortunately, there were very few carnivorous dinosaurs nearby, and all the Dimetrodons had already woken up and were on alert.
He gathered all his tools and rode his Parasaurolophus, strolling along the soft beach. He found the footprints left by these small Dimetrodons rather cute.
Along the long coastline, many herbivorous dinosaurs had already come out to forage, from large Triceratops to small Dodos. This bay was a good spot to build a base, or perhaps he could develop further in the snow mountain and then come here to start a new home for aquatic creatures? Just as he was thinking, Wáng Jùnjié suddenly wanted to check the depth of the bay. He urged his Parasaurolophus to quicken its pace, running all the way to the end of the bay. Only the Raptors could keep up with the Parasaurolophus; the other Dimetrodons were far behind. After all the dinosaurs had gathered, Wáng Jùnjié walked into the water and dived into the bay.

Indeed, his genetically modified body was strong; he could see clearly even underwater. The underwater environment of the bay that met his eyes was a charming world. The seawater was clear and transparent, and sunlight streamed down through the surface, illuminating the fine sand and rocks on the seabed. Colorful coral reefs were like dreamlike castles, enchanting onlookers. Multicolored Coelacanths shuttled and played among them, their scales shimmering as if telling stories of the ocean.
The sand on the seabed was fine and soft, caressing his feet like silk, making him feel comfortable and relaxed. Seaweed swayed gently with the currents, adding a touch of life and vitality to this underwater world. Occasionally, slow-moving Carbonemys swam by, their large and steady figures bringing a sense of tranquility. The presence of these ancient creatures made Wáng Jùnjié feel the ruthlessness of time and the brilliance of life.
As Wáng Jùnjié continued to swim deeper, the visibility decreased the deeper he went. When he reached the bottom, several huge dark shadows appeared in his sight.
Megalodons!!!
So familiar, that silhouette, he knew without guessing. Wáng Jùnjié immediately swam back without hesitation. In Ark, Megalodons were known as wolves of the water; a few gathered together would have group buffs. Megalodons lived from the late Oligocene to the late Pliocene, dominating the oceans for 14 million years. As a ruler of the sea for 14 million years, even one was not something his frail body could contend with. Their massive bodies looked clumsy, but they were not slow. Fortunately, he discovered them from a sufficient distance. Before the Megalodons could catch up, he left the water and returned to the shore.

Wáng Jùnjié breathed a sigh of relief. The oppressive feeling from the Megalodons was immense. Already suffering from a bit of thalassophobia, it was dishonest to say he wasn't scared seeing such giant Megalodons, especially more than one.
Back on shore, Wáng Jùnjié looked at the herbivores moving around and an idea formed. According to his memory, it wasn't far from the snow mountain now; another day's travel would surely get him there tomorrow. Taming a few more dinosaurs would make developing in the snow mountain easier.
Wáng Jùnjié set his sights on a Parasaurolophus. He had a dozen or so tranquilizer arrows left, enough to tame two or three dinosaurs. If that wasn't enough, he would knock them out with clubs. First, he chopped down some trees with a stone axe and made several clubs. He used the rest of the lumber to make wooden posts. His tranquilizer arrows were all found from airdrops; most of them were used to tame Dimetrodons. Once these were used up, he would have to craft them himself, which he could only do after building a base in the snow mountain.
After creating a simple taming pen using wooden posts, Wáng Jùnjié began to lure the solitary Parasaurolophus over. He shot it with a tranquilizer arrow. The Parasaurolophus looked around, trying to see who had attacked it. When it saw that the attacker was a tiny bipedal creature, it couldn't stand it! It immediately roared and charged, intending to knock over this little thing that dared to provoke it, to let it know that herbivores had tempers too.
Wáng Jùnjié used evasive maneuvers, like "Qin Huang winding the pillars," to lead the Parasaurolophus all the way until it got stuck in the taming pen. By the time the Parasaurolophus realized it was trapped and couldn't get out, it was too late.
Wáng Jùnjié used a few flails to bind the unsuspecting Parasaurolophus. After a few more tranquilizer arrows and some whacks with a club, the Parasaurolophus fainted on the ground. Taming this herbivore was simply brutal and direct. Of course, he wouldn't be foolish enough to hit the Parasaurolophus on the head. These dinosaurs were not like the foolish ones in the game that only ran away. Facing a beast over 3 meters tall, if he accidentally got hit, it would be as severe as being hit by a small car.
He placed some purple berries into the Parasaurolophus's mouth. Having prior experience, he knew it would take about half an hour to tame the Parasaurolophus. Wáng Jùnjié took this time to look for his next target. Soon, he found a neutral creature, a Morellatops, leisurely digging for roots. Wáng Jùnjié approached and circled the Morellatops, looking at it. Seeing the Morellatops, which was only slightly shorter than him, he couldn't help but sigh.
Most ancient creatures were large. The Morellatops was a therapsid, a mammal-like reptile that lived from 2.55 to 2.51 million years ago in the Middle Permian. They had huge bodies and walked on four legs. They were herbivores with short, pig-like teeth. Their forelimbs were extended to the sides, similar to modern lizards, while their hindlimbs were directly beneath their bodies, similar to modern mammals.

The Morellatops in front of him was estimated to be 1.65 meters tall and over 3 meters long. Morellatops were capable of fighting medium-sized carnivorous dinosaurs. Unfortunately, in the game, they were designed as timid cowards that only ran away. He wondered if the Morellatops in this world would be the same. Getting something for free was always good. Since he encountered one, he might as well tame it. Morellatops were good gathering creatures and also had some combat ability.
The Morellatops looked up, confused, at the bipedal creature staring at it. Seeing that Wáng Jùnjié made no move, it continued to dig for roots. Wáng Jùnjié scanned the Morellatops with his implant and immediately took out some purple berries, offering them to the Morellatops's mouth.
The Morellatops sniffed the fragrant purple berries and ate them without hesitation. He didn't expect it to actually eat them. It seemed like he got lucky. The hardship of playing the game was still vivid in his memory. Every creature he wanted to tame required prime cooked meat, or honey. Where could a beginner get those? It was torture. Who could understand this feeling?
Wáng Jùnjié saw that the Morellatops had finished the berries and immediately turned away, returning to the unconscious Parasaurolophus. The Morellatops watched the bipedal creature leave, feeling a sense of reluctance. It remembered the delicious berries and showed a look of longing. The juice was truly delicious, but unfortunately, there was no more.
Wáng Jùnjié placed purple berries into the Parasaurolophus's mouth again, then looked up at the Morellatops still within sight, wandering in the distance. It should be ready soon. The Morellatops had a longer starvation period. Wáng Jùnjié decided to tame the next target first – an Ichthyornis.
He quietly approached the Ichthyornis, carefully observing their actions. These little guys were very alert; the slightest disturbance would cause them to fly over and steal things, so he had to remain quiet and patient. Taming an Ichthyornis was relatively simple, but the food requirement was a bit harsh, needing prime raw fish meat. Ichthyornis had a wide aggro range, and could be easily lured. Wáng Jùnjié used a flail to immobilize the Ichthyornis chasing him. Once bound by the flail, the Ichthyornis fell to the ground, letting out threatening cries. After just two shots, the Ichthyornis fell unconscious.

Wáng Jùnjié quickly went to the bay to kill a few Coelacanths to get some meat to feed the Ichthyornis. Then, he stuffed a few black berries into the bird's mouth. Regular fish meat wasn't as effective as prime raw fish meat and would take longer to tame, but there was no other way. He could only wait. As long as he tamed the Ichthyornis, he would have a continuous supply of prime raw fish meat.
While waiting for the Parasaurolophus, Wáng Jùnjié fed the Morellatops again and then put some purple berries into the Ichthyornis's mouth. He ran back and forth constantly. Finally, after the Parasaurolophus woke up, he fed the Morellatops one last time, and it was successfully tamed. Now, only the Ichthyornis remained.
He didn't expect the raw fish meat to be so slow-acting. It took three and a half hours for the Ichthyornis to wake up. Wáng Jùnjié couldn't help but complain that while the Parasaurolophus, with its large size, could wake up in half an hour, the Ichthyornis took so long, delaying him significantly and depleting his stock of black berries.
Wáng Jùnjié took out a piece of hide from his implant, cut it to a suitable size, and then used fiber to make a simple standing pouch specifically for the Ichthyornis. He hung the pouch on himself, ensuring that the Ichthyornis could stand on it steadily. This way, the Ichthyornis could rest quietly on his shoulder without causing any inconvenience or harm. If he didn't take this measure, the Ichthyornis's sharp claws could easily pierce through the hide set Wáng Jùnjié was currently wearing, and he didn't want to endure that pain and torment.
With the newly added Parasaurolophus and Morellatops joining the team, Wáng Jùnjié began to head towards the snow mountain. His tranquilizer arrows and black berries were running low, and even if he wanted to tame more, he lacked the strength.
