Chapter 20

Waking up early the next morning, Ophelia sent her consciousness into the Farm Space. She headed straight for the warehouse. As soon as she opened the heavy doors, a rich, intoxicating aroma of fruit greeted her. Inside, plump, brightly colored fruits were arranged neatly on the shelves. The tender, pink peaches shimmered as if made of gold, the bright red lychees were dazzling, and even the vibrant green watermelons were a sight to behold. Ophelia knew that watermelons—or "winter melons"—existed in the Beast World, but they were far beyond the reach of an ordinary household. To avoid unwanted attention, she tearfully decided to leave the watermelons behind, opting instead to take out a few peaches and lychees, which were easier to dispose of as evidence.
