For the next month or so, Taylor led the males of the Pterosaur Tribe in constructing Ophelia’s residence. Meanwhile, the open space outside the Holy City had been fenced off by Ophelia to serve as a base for free-range livestock. In the Holy City, prey animals were typically hunted in distant forests by tribe members and then kept in pastures, following the law of the jungle. They would keep prey of all sizes together to form a complete ecosystem; those that survived could breed and produce more offspring, while the weaker ones were simply treated as food. Ophelia, however, had no intention of doing things that way. She planned to raise wild boars, sheep, and cattle in the pasture. She divided the five-thousand-square-meter plot into three sections, with each section dedicated to a specific type of livestock. The two piglets Taylor had brought were placed in the pasture, and every morning, Taylor would bring pigweed and other feed to nurture them. With more room to roam, the piglets grew rapidly.
