Gale said they had originally set out to clear out the scattered monsters in the surrounding area. The other creatures were not too difficult to deal with, but they ran into a couple of strangely shaped monsters at the distillery and the tollhouse that took a bit of extra effort.
Through the Mind Flayer Tadpole, Ethemon and the others saw what those monsters looked like. Their ugly appearance made Ethemon curl his lip in disgust, and he turned to Astarion to cleanse his eyes.
"If I'm not mistaken, though, the two monsters you eliminated were probably two of Thorm's three sons," Ethemon said as he and the others walked toward Last Light Inn.
