Upon the blood-mist-shrouded altar, a silver dragon and a monstrous incarnation of murder were locked in a mortal struggle.
The dragon beat its wings, churning up a bloody gale. Its claws flashed with a cold light as they aimed straight for the monster's head; the monster shrieked, its multiple deformed arms brandishing bone claws to parry, every arc of its strike carrying a foul, reeking wind.
The two collided with a crash, dragon scales and bone armor grinding out sparks. The altar's stone tiles fractured under the impact, debris and bloody froth scattering in all directions.
