Ethemon stood outside for a few seconds, the expression of shock frozen on his face for a long time. He looked around the quiet camp, let out a helpless click of his tongue, and lifted the curtain to return to his own tent.
The camp fell completely silent once more, save for the mummy by the riverside, which was still quietly paging through its book.
As the moon climbed above the willow tips and every creature in The Grove drifted off into sweet dreams, Astarion gently lifted the flap of his tent and peered outside. His crimson eyes gleamed with an eerie light in the darkness. He swept his gaze over his companions' tents one by one, lingering for a long time on Ethemon's before finally looking away and heading toward the forest.
