"This magic mirror uses primal magic to bind souls to the mirror itself. This is hardly benevolent magic." Gale inspected the runes above, attempting to communicate with the magic within the mirror. The enchantment inside was ancient and unstable, and it was hard to tell if it was even still functional. "You mean this mirror is supposed to have a mind of its own? If I threaten it to open the door, will it?" Ethemon looked left and right with some curiosity. Perhaps it was just his imagination, but the mirror seemed to give an imperceptible shudder the moment Ethemon finished speaking. "You're welcome to try," Gale said with a smile, though he didn't seem to put much stock in Ethemon's suggestion. How could any magical item abandon its duties simply because someone made a threat?
