Chapter 36

After Ethemon entered the chapel, the priestess handed him a flask of potion, telling him that a quiet environment was needed for willpower tests. Although the glass bottle had no label and the color looked slightly off, the familiar stench gave it away instantly—it was a sleeping draught. Sazza was practically marinated in the stuff. To figure out what the priestess was up to, Ethemon let his legs tremble and collapsed limply to the ground. Soon, he heard her order someone to drag him inside. He felt the floor vibrate as a wave of bloody stench washed over him. Keeping his eyes closed, he felt that creature grab one of his ankles and drag him into the priestess's private chamber. Ethemon was already mapping out how this brute was going to die.
