Since this is a memoir, I plan to start writing from my birth.
I vaguely remember it being a terribly hot day. As a newborn, my eyes were not yet fully developed, and the blinding light made me instinctively search for a place to hide. I curled into the embrace of that skeleton-like creature, and the corpse-like chill eased my discomfort. The sweet, metallic scent of blood enveloped me, bringing an inexplicable sense of safety.
It was only much later that I realized the creature holding me back then must have been my butler.
