When Astarion came back down, he had already regained his composure. With a smile, he returned to Ethemon’s side, only to find that Ethemon had brought out nothing more than a single sleeping bag and two warm blankets. The soft, cozy glow of the campfire fell across his face, subduing his usual sharpness.
"Why did you only bring out one?" Astarion asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Just making do for the night. No need to waste effort setting up a tent." Ethemon patted the blanket beneath him, signaling Astarion to come and sit down. Then, to the other's surprise, he lay down and rested his head in Astarion's lap. "I'll catch some sleep first. I'll take the second half of the watch—keep an eye on the perimeter and stay alert."
