Ethemon and Astarion pushed deeper into the church. Everywhere they looked, wooden boards served as makeshift hospital beds, separated only by crude partitions. Some of the patients' bones had literally fused with the wood, and the stench of death permeated every inch of the air. Ethemon felt entirely ill at ease. Not only did the cramped, narrow space cause his wings and tail to constantly knock over bottles and jars, but the power within him was churning like boiling water.
