Subodhi and the others had just stepped out of the valley.
Before them stood a majestic and towering mountain that pierced the very heavens—
It was none other than Mount Buzhou, ancient, mysterious, and awe-inspiring!
Mount Buzhou scraped the clouds, wreathed in mist, radiating an ancient and formidable aura that filled the air, striking immediate reverence and dread into the hearts of all who beheld it.
Astonishingly, imprisoned beneath the mountain was none other than the Hundun.
At this moment, Wukong's true spirit flickered with a faint, wondrous light, as if imbued with sentience, resonating mysteriously with the Hundun below.
Subodhi's gaze sharpened as he thought to himself, "Could it be that a great destiny is hidden within this?"
The others exchanged glances, well aware that rescuing the Hundun would be no easy feat.
"This Mount Buzhou is an ancient divine mountain, reinforced by the supreme magic of the Primordial Creator Pangu. It is as unyielding as rock and impossible to shake!"
Gonggong frowned deeply, his expression solemn as he spoke aloud.
Yet Subodhi's gaze remained firm and unyielding. Raising his voice, he declared, "No matter how great the perils, this patriarch shall make an attempt!"
With that, his hands wove through seals at lightning speed as he chanted incantations.
In an instant, Taoist runes flared around his body.
The brilliant light, like a falling river of stars imbued with the might of thunder and lightning, violently crashed against Mount Buzhou.
Yet Mount Buzhou did not budge an inch, instead rebounding with an overwhelmingly powerful force that struck Subodhi like a giant wave, driving him back several paces.
"Hmph, this patriarch refuses to yield!" Subodhi shouted angrily.
The aura around him surged violently, blazing like oil on fire.
Waving his hands, he unleashed Taoist Magic that bloomed like brilliant fireworks, launching an even more ferocious and violent assault.
At that moment, the Hundun let out a painful roar from beneath the mountain.
The sound was deafening, as if it would tear the firmament apart, brimming with an intense yearning for freedom.
Gonggong clenched his teeth and said resolutely, "So be it, let me lend a hand!"
Raising his hands high, he cried out, "Laws of Water, hear my command!"
Instantly, a surging, overwhelming torrent of water energy converged like a reversed heavenly river, crashing toward Mount Buzhou.
Yet even so, Mount Buzhou remained as steadfast and unshakable as Mount Tai.
Just as everyone was at their wits' end, a chilling, sinister laugh suddenly echoed from the sky.
"A pack of fools overreaching themselves!"
Lifting their heads, they saw a mysterious immortal descending on a propitious cloud, looking arrogant and haughty.
Immortal qi wreathed his form, yet it was laced with conceit and disdain.
"Who goes there?" Subodhi demanded vigilantly, his voice ringing with authority.
The immortal cast a disdainful glance at them and sneered, "I am a disciple under Yuanshi Tianzun! How could ants like you ever hope to shake this mountain?"
Subodhi snorted coldly, "Enough talk! Today we shall rescue the Hundun!"
The immortal's expression shifted as he shouted angrily, "Insolent! How dare you show disrespect to Tianzun!"
With a wave of his hand, a spell of astonishing might came roaring forward like a mad dragon.
Wherever the spell passed, space was torn apart, emitting a piercing shriek.
Without a shred of fear, Subodhi flashed forward like a ghost to meet the attack.
Wielding his fly whisk, he sent a gentle beam of light to counter the fierce dragon.
When the two collided, brilliant light burst forth instantly like blooming fireworks, and the thunderous roar shook the heavens and earth, causing the wind and clouds to change color.
Just as both sides were locked in a fierce stalemate, Gonggong had a sudden flash of inspiration and shouted aloud,
"Master, let us join forces to attack a weak spot on Mount Buzhou!"
Hearing this, the others responded in kind.
Subodhi unleashed the Chaos Divine Art, his radiance dazzling and incomparably powerful.
Countless mysterious runes flew from his hands, enveloping a vulnerable spot on Mount Buzhou and radiating a terrifying force.
Gonggong exerted his full strength, transforming the water energy into a giant water dragon that roared toward the target.
The water dragon gleamed with aqueous light, seeming to hold endless power.
The others also unleashed their strongest spells, their dazzling brilliance mesmerizing to behold.
Finally, through their concerted efforts, Mount Buzhou began to tremble slightly.
"Put your backs into it!" Subodhi shouted, his voice filled with firmness and resolve.
As they continued to exert their power, Mount Buzhou trembled ever more violently, its rocks cracking with thunderous roars that shook the earth.
Massive fissures spread across the mountain like the gaping maw of a giant beast.
At that moment, Gonggong hurled himself straight at Mount Buzhou, his entire body bursting with an unstoppable momentum, as if casting life and death aside.
A heaven-shaking roar instantly erupted from the mountain.
At last, through Gonggong's desperate gamble, a massive fissure split Mount Buzhou, allowing the Hundun to break free.
Wukong's true spirit merged perfectly with the Hundun.
In an instant, an overwhelmingly powerful aura burst forth, shooting straight up into the nine heavens, shocking all directions and causing the wind and clouds to shift.
The body of the Hundun gradually transformed, slowly taking on Wukong's appearance.
Wukong slowly opened his eyes, a trace of lingering bewilderment and chaos still within them.
"Wukong, you've finally returned!" Subodhi said excitedly, his eyes filled with gratification.
Looking at Subodhi, Wukong's eyes shimmered with tears as his voice choked up:
"Master, this disciple has caused you worry! If not for you, this disciple knows not when he could ever have returned."
Subodhi gently patted Wukong's shoulder and said,
"Wukong, do not speak thus. The bond between master and disciple runs deep; this patriarch would never let you sink into oblivion."
Wukong nodded heavily and said,
"Master, this disciple shall surely follow you to complete this Journey to the West and reclaim the entirety of my true spirit."
After resting briefly, the company continued on their Journey to the West.
Not long after setting off, they arrived at a barren desert.
The scorching sun hung high, bringing an unbearable heat that seemed capable of baking the very sands.
"This damned place could bake a man dry!" Taotie complained.
Just then, a fierce gale whipped up across the desert, and amid the billowing yellow sand, a massive figure loomed indistinctly.
"What is that?" Gonggong shouted vigilantly.
As the violent wind subsided, the group made out the figure—it was a gigantic Scorpion Spirit.
"Ha ha, a meal delivered right to my doorstep!"
The Scorpion Spirit laughed bizarrely, the venomous stinger on its tail flashing with a chilling glint as if capable of claiming lives in an instant.
Subodhi snorted coldly, "Vile fiend, stop your insolence!"
Unfazed, the Scorpion Spirit lunged forward with its twin pincers dancing.
As the pincers slashed through the air, they stirred up gusts of fierce wind carrying a toxic miasma.
A fierce battle broke out once more.
The Scorpion Spirit moved at blinding speed, its venomous stinger striking like lightning toward the group.
Subodhi waved his fly whisk, transforming a beam of light into a protective shield that blocked the stinger.
When the light collided with the stinger, it produced a piercing screech.
Wukong was not to be outdone, wielding the Ruyi Jingu Bang as he charged at the Scorpion Spirit.
The Ruyi Jingu Bang gleamed with golden light amid a whistling rush of wind.
"A puny monster dares to be arrogant!" Wukong shouted.
Yet the Scorpion Spirit possessed extraordinary strength, fighting the group to a standstill.
Just as everyone was busy dealing with the creature, a massive black bird came hurtling through the air from afar.
"Not good, the Golden-Winged Great Roc has broken free of its seal and escaped!" Gonggong cried out in alarm.
Subodhi's expression darkened. "This beast actually managed to escape this patriarch's seal!"
The Golden-Winged Great Roc let out a shrill scream, "Today shall be your day of death!"
With that, it beat its wings, sending a tempest mixed with blade-like light slashing toward the group.
Subodhi formed hand seals and chanted an incantation, enveloping the Golden-Winged Great Roc in a powerful beam of magical light.
"Abomination, yield at once!" Subodhi roared.
The Golden-Winged Great Roc fought back desperately, throwing the battlefield into even greater chaos.
At that moment, Gonggong spotted a weakness in the Scorpion Spirit and shouted, "Attack its belly!"
Hearing this, the others concentrated their strength and struck the Scorpion Spirit's belly.
Caught off guard, the Scorpion Spirit was struck in the abdomen by Wukong's Ruyi Jingu Bang and let out a miserable screech.
Billowing black smoke instantly poured from its belly.
Seeing the Scorpion Spirit injured, the Golden-Winged Great Roc felt a pang of shock.
Seizing the opportunity, Subodhi strengthened his spell, suppressing the Golden-Winged Great Roc once more.
"Trying to flee? Not so easily!" Subodhi declared.
Ultimately, through their combined efforts, the Scorpion Spirit was subdued, and the Golden-Winged Great Roc was sealed once again.
Continuing on their way, the group soon came across a surging, turbulent river.
"This river looks exceptionally perilous!" Taotie remarked.
At that instant, a pillar of water erupted from the river, and a water monster appeared before them.
"I built this road, so leave the toll if you want to pass!" the water monster shouted loudly.
Without a word, Wukong brandished the Ruyi Jingu Bang and charged forward.
The water monster refused to yield, unleashing powerful water magic to entangle with Wukong.
Waves churned and light flashed.
Observing from the side, Subodhi suddenly noticed that the water monster's magic seemed somewhat similar to Gonggong's.
"Gonggong, can you recognize the origins of this water monster?" Subodhi asked.
Frowning in thought for a moment, Gonggong replied, "Patriarch, the flow of this water monster's magic resembles the lineage of the ancient water gods."
Subodhi's heart stirred. "Could there be some hidden story behind this?"
Just then, the water monster exerted a sudden burst of power, forcing Wukong back.
"Mind your own business and leave this place at once!" the water monster roared.
Wukong's eyes bulged with fury. "Dream on! Today I shall take you down!"
Subodhi intervened, "Wukong, be patient. Let this master probe this water monster's background."
Subodhi formed hand seals and chanted an incantation, casting a mysterious beam of light that enveloped the water monster.
The light tightened like a net.
Feeling the terrifying force, terror flashed across the water monster's face.
"Spare my life, Patriarch!" the water monster pleaded for mercy.
Subodhi demanded, "Who on earth are you? Why do you block our path here?"
Helplessly, the water monster explained, "I am a descendant of the ancient water gods, trapped here after being framed by villains. If you let me leave, I am willing to assist you on your Journey to the West."
Pondering for a moment, Subodhi said, "Very well. If you assist us with a sincere heart, past misdeeds shall not be pursued."
Overwhelmed with gratitude, the water monster joined their ranks.
Yet before they had traveled far, they encountered new trouble.
A dark forest loomed before them, exuding an eerie aura with faint, sinister laughter echoing from within.
"What cursed place is this again?" Taotie muttered.
Stepping cautiously into the forest, they saw the surrounding trees seemingly come to life, their branches lashing out toward them.
The branches whistled loudly through the air.
"Watch out!" Wukong shouted a warning.
Subodhi cast a spell, sending a protective barrier of light to shield the group against the attacking trees.
As the light collided with the branches, it produced a crackling din.
Just then, a dark shadow slowly emerged from the depths of the forest...
