After Siming and Feng Jiu left Qingqiu, they hurried toward Chengyu State. Along the way, Siming explained to Feng Jiu that, according to the destiny ledger, Chengyu State was originally destined to fall, an outcome that would profoundly affect the fates of many. Yet the ledger now showed that Chengyu State had suddenly pulled itself back from the brink of destruction thanks to an object called a Lingbi Stone. Consequently, many variables had arisen regarding this mortal realm in the destiny ledger, and members of the Demon Tribe appeared to be interfering as well. Furthermore, in this same mortal realm, the Kingdom of Chongan—which had long eyed Chengyu State with covetous hostility—had suddenly acquired a princess named Chu Wan, further entangling the destinies of both nations. The destiny ledger bore no records whatsoever concerning this princess; her past was a blank, and her future completely unknown.
These were matters Siming had to deal with, and he informed Feng Jiu so she would have an idea of what to expect.
As the two were rushing toward Chengyu State, however, trouble struck Feng Jiu. They had originally been speeding along on their respective auspicious clouds when Feng Jiu gradually began to feel unwell. She only had time to gasp, "Siming..." before losing consciousness and plunging from the cloud.
