"Back in those days, we used oil lamps made from hand grenade shells to illuminate our night work, burned twigs into charcoal to smelt iron, and even used copper coins we’d collected to make detonators. Every single detail was a struggle beyond imagination.
Facing the difficulty of casting pig iron, we had nowhere to retreat. We came up with the method of using white cast iron castings, coating them with a layer of wrought iron, and then machining them, which ensured the successful production of shells and grenades. It was entirely thanks to this 'indigenous method' of innovation that we barely managed to overcome the production challenges of that time."
