Soon, the logistics department completed the inspection and finalization of the new weapons. This batch of the new Type 56 Weapon Family all featured a 7.62mm caliber and included three types: semi-automatic rifles, submachine guns, and light machines guns.
These firearms would become the primary equipment for the grassroots infantry companies of our army, all utilizing a standardized 7.62x39mm intermediate power rifle cartridge. This design not only unified the caliber of infantry firearms, but also greatly reduced the burden on our army's logistics department while simultaneously enhancing the overall combat effectiveness of our infantry squads.
First, it was decided to conduct operational trials of the equipment within the Special Operations Company and the reconnaissance company of the Independent Regiment. Each squad's leader and deputy leader would each be equipped with a Type 56 Submachine Gun, while the other soldiers would each be equipped with a Type 56 Semi-Automatic Rifle.
