Chapter 3

On April 30, 2008, at the front desk of a restaurant while settling the bill, Brown heard the news anchor on television say:
"Renowned arms manufacturer and billionaire industrialist Tony Stark is set to travel to the Middle East soon."
Hearing this, Brown realized the plot had already begun. He glanced at the gacha draws remaining in his system—121 times—and decided to use them all at once to see if he could pull a legendary golden item. But all of that would have to wait until he got home.
At 7:00 PM, Brown, having already finished work for the day, went home, took a shower, and lit an incense stick with great solemnity.
"I hope this time won't be like before, and that I'll actually get some useful stuff. System, one hundred consecutive draws!"
Two flashes of golden light streaked across:
Superman's Man of Steel template, and a spatial ring (capable of holding three hundred cubic meters of objects).
Seeing these two legendary golden items, Brown leaped into the air with excitement. Now he, too, was a superhero!
"System, merge with the Superman Man of Steel template."
After a burst of light, Brown felt an all-over comfort. He moved his limbs this way and that, went up to the roof, and flew right out into the night. Feeling the wind rushing past his ears, Brown laughed out loud with excitement.
"From now on, I'm a transmigrator with superpowers too!"
After circling Earth a few times, he returned to his rented apartment. Having calmed down from his excitement, Brown felt hungry. He checked the ingredients in the fridge and cooked four dishes and a soup.
After eating, Brown planned to punish evil and promote good. Previously, it was because his lack of capabilities prevented him; now that he had the power, he could start purging evil, and then go rescue Tony Stark after a while. The plan in his heart grew more and more perfect, and Brown smiled before he knew it.
After finishing his meal, Brown bought a mask and began his first night of punishing evil and upholding justice. That night, equipped with flight and super vision, Brown rescued quite a few men and women who had been coerced by evil forces.
In the morning, Master Brown—exhausted from a busy night—arrived early at the shop, sipped coffee, and ate a sandwich while waiting for the news of Stark's ambush.
High up in the airplane, Stark suddenly sneezed.
A few days later:
Tony Stark had been attacked in the Middle East and lost contact.
By this time, major intelligence agencies across the United States were searching the entire Middle East for any trace of Tony Stark, but their bitter search yielded nothing.
Three months later, Brown flew into the skies above the Middle East region, using his super vision and X-ray vision to search for Tony Stark.
"Found you," Brown swooped down at sonic speed.
"Quick and decisive, and save Yinsen along the way." After all, Yinsen—the scientist who helped Stark build the armor—was one of Stark's deepest regrets.
Brown swept through the Ten Rings stronghold with his heat vision. In the dungeon, hearing wails echoing outside, Yinsen and Stark stopped hammering away at their metal. At that moment, Stark felt the iron door guarding them grow bizarrely hot and immediately ducked to the side. Within seconds, the iron door melted into a puddle of molten metal, and a man appeared: resolute and handsome, wearing a tight suit that clearly revealed his chest muscles and eight-pack abs.
"Tony Stark, do you remember me?"
This question left Stark completely baffled.
"Have we met somewhere before?"
"Forget it if you forgot. For now, you just need to remember that I'm your savior. Let's go, I'll get you out of here."
Stepping out of the dungeon, Yinsen and Stark looked at the ruins covering the ground in utter shock. Was this really something achievable by human strength?
"Hey, Stark, can you contact the military so they can come pick you up?"
Stark, snapping back to reality, said, "Oh, yeah, I can, but I need to find my phone."
"Hey, Rhodey, track my phone and come pick me up."
"Oh! Stark, finally got your signal! Hang on, I'm coming to get you right now."
After a while, Colonel Rhodey arrived to pick up Stark via an Osprey helicopter.
"Finally get to see you, my good friend."
"You're hugging too tight, my friend, I can't breathe."
"Let me introduce them, who are these two?"
"Hello, I'm Yinsen from Mirgula."
"I'm Brown, from New York."
"Brown, my savior—he's the one who rescued me from the terrorists," Tony said.
"Alright, get on the plane. Someone else will handle things here."
Upon arriving at the American airfield, Rhodey helped Stark down from the aircraft.
"Careful, watch your step."
Brown supported Yinsen as they disembarked right behind Stark, taking in the scene before them.
"Well, your eyes are red. Were you worried about your boss?" Stark asked.
"These are tears of joy. I hate job hunting," Pepper replied.
"And who are these two?" Pepper asked.
"This is Yinsen, a scientist who was locked up with me. And this is Brown, the one who saved me."
"Alright everyone, get in the car." Because Stark had called Pepper while on the plane, he had told her to drive an extra car for the pickup.
"Happy, buy an American double cheeseburger. Pepper, call a press conference, I have something to say."
In his heart, Brown thought: Stark's weapons division was about to be shut down, causing stock prices to plummet. This was the perfect time to ask Stark for money and then buy the dip on Stark's stock.
"Brown, Yinsen, do you want burgers? If so, I'll have Happy buy a few extra."
Brown: "I'll take two."
Yinsen: "I'll take one, please."
"Happy, four burgers. Brown, would you be willing to be my bodyguard? A personal one," Tony said.
"Sure, but my price is a bit high," Brown replied.
Though he wasn't clear on the extent of Brown's strength, having seen the horrific carnage inside the cave, Tony readily agreed.
At the press conference venue, Tony recounted his experiences and ordeals during this period, concluding with these final words:
"I am shutting down Stark Industries' weapons manufacturing division."
This short sentence caused a massive uproar.
At this point, Obadiah Stane stepped up to the podium to calm Tony down, telling the media:
"The main point of this press conference is to let everyone know that Tony is back and in excellent health. As for whether the weapons manufacturing division will be closed, the internal board will discuss the matter and make a timely announcement."
Down in the audience, Yinsen, Colonel Rhodey, and Pepper all wore looks of utter shock. Only Brown felt that Iron Man was about to emerge.
Stepping down from the stage, Tony sought out Pepper and Brown, motioning for Yinsen to follow along.
Back at the mansion, Tony first had Yinsen rest there for a while before setting out to develop the Iron Man armor. Then he found Brown to discuss his salary.
"Tony, how much are you going to pay me for saving your life this time?" Brown asked unseriously.
"How much do you want, Brown?" Tony asked.
"Five hundred million dollars," Brown replied.
"Deal. Give me your account number, and the funds will be transferred shortly. Now let's discuss what your salary will be going forward."
"For my future salary, just pay me whatever you feel like," Brown said nonchalantly after securing his money.
"You're the one who said to pay whatever, so I really will pay whatever—let's make it one hundred thousand a month. That's settled." Tony stared at Brown with a mischievous grin. Brown just shrugged unconcernedly.
"Alright boss, time to rest. I didn't get any real rest in the Middle East at all. By the way, am I living here too?"
"You can stay at my place for the time being. In a bit, I'll buy you another house nearby, and the money will be deducted from your salary."
Hearing this, Brown stopped smiling.
"Boss, seriously? You're going to dock my pay to buy me a house? Well, you're going to be docking it for a long, long time..." Brown said with a wicked grin.
"Then I'll give you a raise—one million a month. How's that for more deductions? Alright, go get some rest," Tony said with a smirk.
