While Gwen and Brown were having a delightful conversation in the private dining room, the restaurant's main lobby had long since been occupied by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
After finishing their meal, Gwen and Brown stepped out of the private room, returned to their car, and were just starting to move when Brock Rumlow stepped forward to block their path. The driver slammed on the brakes, causing Gwen—seated in the back—to lunge forward from the sudden stop with a sharp gasp. Brown opened the door, stepped out, and pulled Brock Rumlow away.
Brown simply said, "You scared my girlfriend."
