Helen Stacy came out of the kitchen and said, "You two stop arguing back and forth and come eat." Hearing Helen Stacy's call, George and Brown stopped bickering and came over to the dining table. At the table, Helen Stacy skillfully steered their conversation away from whether things were bloody and whether it should have been done, pivoting to the lighthearted banter between mother and daughter in the kitchen. Although the transition was rather rigid, Brown and George were no longer at loggerheads.
