Meanwhile, Brown found Rhodey, who was still firing his weapon. Rhodey's very first words upon seeing Brown were:
"What took you so long? I brought six magazines and I'm down to the last one. Hurry up and take me to the president."
"No need," Brown said. "I've already teleported the president back to the White House. And there's no way the president isn't giving your armor back."
Just as he spoke, an extremis soldier came charging toward them, but Brown pierced its head with a heat ray, sending it crashing to the ground.
"Whoa, your powers sure are handy," Rhodey said. "Just a glare and they drop dead. Is that innate or some kind of acquired mutation?"
"Innate."
Rhodey pursed his lips and muttered:
"If I had your powers, I'd probably be an Air Force general by now."
"General James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Five-Star Air Force General?"
At that, Brown and Rhodey shared a knowing smile, and Rhodey punched Brown playfully on the shoulder.
While Rhodey and Brown were chatting and laughing, Pepper and Tony were having a sweet moment.
Pepper was clearly still in a state of nervous tension after finishing off Killian. Tony walked over and moved to embrace her, but Pepper held up a hand to stop him.
