Xingyu couldn't be bothered with him. She climbed out of bed, her bare feet sinking into the carpet, then curled up on a green armchair. She picked up the bee plush toy from the side and hugged it to her chest, resting her head against the armrest. Her face was deathly pale; framed by her long orange hair, her expressionless features made her look like a kitten that had only just turned human and was still poorly socialized. Shen Lingjun sat on the edge of the bed, watching Xingyu quietly. The corners of his lips curved up unconsciously. He thought that if Xingyu were willing, they could stay in this room forever and never leave. The atmosphere, however, was quickly shattered. Xingyu closed her eyes to shake off the fatigue of waking up, rubbed the corner of her lip where he had bitten her, and sat upright again. Her small face was scrunched up as she glared at Shen Lingjun. Without a hint of hesitation, she tossed the plush toy she had just been clutching at him; it landed with a soft thud on his lap.
