Xu Xingyu’s current identity is the only daughter of the wealthy Xu Family. In this micro-world, she is a pampered, troublesome supporting character whose sole purpose is to bully the male lead in the early stages, only to be repeatedly slapped down by both the male and female leads in the latter half of the story.
The Xu Family is an ancient lineage with a long history. For hundreds of years, they have upheld the tradition of monogamy, never taking concubines, and in modern times, they are even more renowned for their loving, devoted couples. Xu Xingyu is the only daughter of the current head of the family, Xu Huaishen, and his wife, though her mother passed away during her early childhood.
Because Xu Huaishen was always busy with work and raised her while moving between various cities for school, he felt immense guilt toward his daughter and ended up indulging her into an arrogant and overbearing personality. Later, Xu Huaishen accidentally adopted the male lead and renamed him Xu Lingjing, hoping that he would be a companion for his daughter to grow up with and someone who could support her in the future.
However, the supporting character stubbornly convinced herself that the male lead was her father’s illegitimate son. She subjected him to all sorts of bullying and framing, using every tactic imaginable to trip him up, eventually becoming the greatest psychological shadow of his youth. The male lead became gloomy and withdrawn, losing all faith in the existence of sincere human emotion.
But that was fine; this was when the female lead would appear.
As the heroine of a redemption story, she naturally possessed all the virtuous qualities the troublesome supporting character lacked. The supporting character was hypocritical, while she was sincere and kind. The supporting character was vicious and hot-tempered, prone to physical fights, while she was gentle and always arrived punctually to bandage the male lead’s wounds whenever he was hurt. The supporting character was lazy and vain, while she loved life and strove for success. Thus, the heroine’s appearance successfully dispelled the gloom in the male lead’s heart.
After her father’s passing, the supporting character, unable to manage the company on her own, watched as the business went from bad to worse—all while she obsessively and madly targeted the male lead’s company. Initially, a starving camel is still bigger than a horse, and the male lead’s startup was indeed on the verge of failure due to her deliberate interference. But, after all, he was the male lead with his own protective halo. With the female lead’s companionship and help, their company successfully went public and became one of the top conglomerates in the country.
As for the supporting character, her family’s century-old foundation collapsed overnight due to her reckless spending and antics. In the end, unwilling to accept her defeat, she tried to ram her car into the male lead to kill him, but accidentally veered off a bridge and drowned in the river. Without her obstruction and chaos, the male lead and female lead went on to live a happy, loving life together.
...
After receiving these plot details, Xu Xingyu blinked slowly, as if deep in thought. Suddenly, she slammed her glass onto the dining table, grabbed the schoolbag from the chair next to her, and stood up to leave.
The System did not quite understand what Lord Demon intended to do.
【Lord Demon, where are you going?】
Xu Xingyu dropped a cold remark: 【To school, to watch the female lead bandage the male lead’s wounds.】
Feeling the murderous aura emanating from Lord Demon, the System trembled: 【Calm down, please calm down! That is only the male lead of the original plot, not Lord God.】
Xu Xingyu curled her lips into a sneer: 【I’m not angry. I’m just going to watch the show. Since the male lead and female lead are living their happy life together, and I’m just the supporting character destined to be trampled underfoot, what’s wrong with a cannon-fodder supporting character watching the protagonists’ happiness?】
The System did not believe her for a second. Even though Lord Demon’s smile was exceptionally bright—revealing her two small fangs—there was a chilling, sinister air in those dark, dark eyes.
It hurriedly explained, not daring to let the Demon harbor any misunderstandings about Lord God: 【Didn’t Lord God say it himself? You don't need to follow the plot or the character profile. You can bully him however you like, as you please. You aren't really a supporting character, he isn't the male lead, and there is no other heroine. Please don't be angry.】
Xu Xingyu chuckled, threatening the System with a soft, gentle voice: 【I’m not angry! That’s the second time. I have very little patience, and if I have to repeat myself again, I really will pluck your wings out one by one.】
The System shivered, not daring to expose her further. If it lost its wings, it would be no different from a human without hair; it would no longer be a perfect angel, and the angel it liked might even think it ugly. In their short time together, it had already discovered Lord Demon’s nature: cruel and stubborn. She was clearly angry beyond control—that momentary aura of malice had been enough to dye its white wings black—yet she refused to admit it.
As a pathetic, pitiful Guardian Angel, it quickly changed the subject.
【But didn’t your father tell you to stay home and reflect on your actions?】
【Yes, and I’m choosing not to listen to him.】
【...But it’s already past nine o'clock. By the standard schedule of a human university, the first class is already half over.】
【Oh.】
【Your father just gave the driver the day off. There’s likely no one to take you to school, and since you live in the suburbs, you can’t hail a taxi.】
【Oh, I can drive.】
【You know how to drive? Do you have a license?】
【I don't know how to drive, but I know Magic Spell. Besides, isn't it better without a license? If I get caught, it’ll be Xu Huaishen who gets punished.】
【...】
Xu Xingyu actually chose a blue-violet sports car from the parking lot, sitting in the driver’s seat, leisurely sipping a yogurt while watching the scenery outside. The steering wheel turned under the control of faint blue sparkles, and the eye-catching, luxurious sports car zigzagged down the road. Fortunately, the windshield was tinted, so no one noticed the car was driving itself.
The department where Xu Xingyu studied was in a secluded corner of the campus. It was quiet, and the building was practically deserted, as the entire department had only one classroom used for lectures, while the other rooms were offices and labs.
When Xu Xingyu entered the classroom, the noisy room suddenly went silent, as if hit by a deep freeze. Even as she walked in with her schoolbag slung over one shoulder, carrying only a tablet and sipping her yogurt, students playing on their phones moved their eyes away from their screens, and those chatting stopped, sneaking curious, cautious glances at her. It was as if she were some kind of freakish specimen.
They had probably assumed she wouldn’t show up today, and the class had become relaxed in the absence of the usual trouble, only for that trouble to arrive after all. Xu Xingyu didn't care about these strange looks. Whether they liked her or not, they couldn’t get rid of her anyway.
Hehe.
Following her memories, Xu Xingyu found her seat, only to discover a girl sitting in it. The girl had short, chin-length hair, and though her face wasn't visible, her back suggested a pure, fair-skinned girl. She was currently sitting in Xu Xingyu's seat, facing the back of the room, her fingertips gripping the edge of the table as she leaned slightly, trying to talk to Xu Lingjing.
Xu Lingjing lowered his gaze, acting as if he hadn't heard her, silently flipping through his book without uttering a word.
Xu Xingyu sharply caught sight of the scattered scars on the back of his hand—they were exceptionally striking against his pale, vein-mapped skin, like scratches on a piece of flawless white porcelain.
But she felt no guilt.
In her heart, she communicated with the System: 【I suppose this is the stage where the heroine begins to melt the ice in the male lead’s heart.】
The System would not allow the Demon to have any misunderstandings about the Lord God; it firmly defended his innocence: 【Lord God is not the male lead, and she is not the heroine.】
Xu Xingyu arched an eyebrow, looking at this "harmonious" scene with a twisted smile.
The surrounding students shivered in terror, thinking she was even scarier than before. She used to be mindlessly hot-tempered; now, she was a clear-headed maniac. No one was not afraid of a clear-headed maniac. They even forgot to warn Ruan Qianqian that Xu Xingyu had arrived.
After watching for a moment, Xu Xingyu tossed her schoolbag onto the desk, which was piled with a few nearly brand-new textbooks.
