Alex heard a voice as sweet and crisp as a summer green pear, though the elongated tail of the final syllable added a hint of captivating slyness and mischievous humor. Alex immediately steadied himself against the pit wall and stood up, looking up at the figure standing above. Under the moonlight, the girl, slightly hunched over, looked like a sprite conjured from a plant. She wore a long green linen dress, and her long, supple hair hung loose, making her face appear exceptionally delicate. Her lips were red, her teeth white, and her eyes were a brilliant emerald hue. The skin left exposed looked even better than polished, lustrous jade.
