Patriarch Chixiao lived on Huoyang Peak. It was only after Li Dai made inquiries that she learned he spent most of his time at the Moli Pavilion and rarely came out unless absolutely necessary.
The people of Huoyang Peak were quite hospitable. Upon learning she was looking for Patriarch Chixiao, they brought her straight over without asking any questions. Li Dai, however, was unaware that her guide had been specifically stationed at the entrance by Patriarch Chixiao himself to prevent any complications. He had known about Li Dai’s return to the sect the moment he received the news. He was quite satisfied that she had chosen to come and see him first; at the very least, it showed she respected him more than she did Mo Zhechen. He had anticipated that Mo Zhechen would seek her out, but he had no intention of intervening.
When Li Dai entered the Moli Pavilion, she froze, stunned by her surroundings. The area was like a secluded paradise, hidden away from the world. It was filled with unassuming wildflowers, rice paddies, and strange, curious vegetables—a truly pastoral scene. Li Dai was bewildered. This looked like the residence of a hermit, which was quite different from the impression she had formed of Patriarch Chixiao.
