It was no wonder the cultivator's face had changed color. Outside the spirit ship's barrier, the water was swarming with bone-gnawing fish of all sizes, shaped just like golden spears. If not for the protective barrier enveloping the spirit ship, those bone-gnawing fish would have swarmed the vessel long ago and chewed it to pieces. Li Dai had stayed inside her spatial dimension for quite a while, and she had no idea how much time had passed outside. But at a single glance, she could see that the spirit ship had already left the Mist Capital far behind and was now sailing across the hazy, boundless Min River. Ahead, behind, to the left, and to the right, there was nothing else in the world except this single spirit ship. If they were attacked by such a vast horde of bone-gnawing fish and the ship was destroyed, they would have nowhere left to hide. The bone-gnawing fish were terrifying because of their razor-sharp teeth. Though small in size, they existed in immense numbers, and whenever they appeared, they devoured everything in their path like a plague of locusts. Their traits were somewhat similar to the gold-devouring ants of the desert, except that gold-devouring ants generally consumed spiritual artifacts and the carcasses of land animals, whereas bone-gnawing fish loved human bones and flesh above all else. To feed on humans, their teeth were capable of chewing through any spirit ship.
