Chapter 1

"My brother has only been dead for two months, and you’re already this desperate? You couldn't wait to seduce me?"
Li Qianqian opened her eyes, a splitting headache throbbing in her temples. The first thing that came into view was a set of firm, well-defined abdominal muscles, and above them, a handsome face with sharp, chiseled features.
The man’s bottomless, pitch-black eyes were fixed on her, filled with nothing but utter disgust. Her hands were clamped tightly in his large palms, the pressure so intense it felt as though he might crush her bones.
"Li Qianqian, if you're tired of living, I don't mind helping you along the way!"
The man’s voice was chillingly cold. He yanked her off his lap and flung her onto the floor. Then, he reached out, pulled the jacket from the bed, and draped it over himself.
A sharp pain shot through Li Qianqian’s entire body, and as her mind flickered to life, a flood of memories that didn't belong to her poured in.
She had transmigrated into a book.
She was now a supporting character in a novel where she served as a foil to the "everyone-loves-her" protagonist. The original owner shared her name and had married into a wealthy neighboring family alongside the female lead, Yu Shushu. After both of their husbands passed away, they were left under the care of their late husbands' brothers—tycoons in the industry.
As a widow, the female lead remained chaste and devoted to her husband's memory. She worked as an agent for a media company under the Fu Group, where her capable and professional demeanor led her to cultivate several breakout stars. Throughout their collaborations, the four tycoon brothers were drawn to her virtues, sparking a "reverse-harem" competition for her affection.
The original owner, however, was the complete opposite. She ignored the massive fortune she had inherited, neglected the promising artists under her management, and treated her mother-in-law—who had loved her like a daughter—with coldness and disrespect.
She had been hell-bent on seducing her husband's brother and his other associates, carrying out a series of shameful acts that eventually cost her the favor of Old Madam Fu and led to her being cast out of the Fu family.
The scene unfolding now was the prelude to her downfall, a moment where she had been framed, setting the stage for her expulsion from the Fu family.
While the original owner had indeed harbored thoughts of seducing her husband's brother, the most daring act she had committed up to this point was stealing a few of his personal items.Today, she had barged in while the eldest brother was in the shower and locked the door, intending to force a consummation, but she had been put up to it, and she wasn't the one who had spiked that glass of water.
Before she could dwell on it further, Fu Huaishan’s face turned crimson. The intense heat coursing through his body was nearly consuming him, and he struggled to keep his muddled brain alert, the veins on his hands bulging.
Over the years, there had been no shortage of people trying to force women into his life. He had encountered this kind of reaction before in his younger days, so he naturally knew exactly what was going on.
He abruptly looked up at the culprit. "What did you do to me?"
Li Qianqian frowned slightly. Ignoring the pain in her body, she scrambled up from the floor and reached out to pick up the glass of water on the table, checking it—it hadn't been touched yet.
She could still save this. She didn't want to lose her life as a wealthy woman on the very first day of transmigrating here.
Li Qianqian’s mind raced, and she quickly came up with a perfect explanation. She parted her lips and said, "Eldest Brother, you have a fever. Actually, I came here to take care of you."
Hearing this, Fu Huaishan was so angry he laughed. What a shameless woman! To be able to say such things without blushing or missing a beat.
He fought through the discomfort in his body, snatched up the black silk stockings from the side, and threw them viciously onto the floor.
"Take them and get out."
"Eldest Brother, now is not the time for you to introduce me to your fetishes. I’m going to call a doctor for you."
Li Qianqian looked at the black stockings the original owner had left behind and silently averted her eyes. Blatantly lying, she turned around and headed for the door. If she stayed here any longer, the Old Madam would arrive.
This was no place to linger.
A hand grabbed her arm and yanked her back. Even in his feverish state, Fu Huaishan’s strength was terrifying.
Li Qianqian lost her footing and stumbled unexpectedly into the man’s arms. Her senses were instantly overwhelmed by the scent of his pheromones.Fu Huaishan felt the fragrant warmth against his chest, making his entire body feel stiff and awkward. She was remarkably soft, pressing against him as if she had no bones at all, and his proud self-control began to crumble at that moment.
In the end, he attributed it to the overwhelming potency of the drug.
Despite her many previous seductions, they had never been in such close physical contact.
This was the first time, and also the last. Fu Huaishan pushed her away, his patience for her completely exhausted.
"Want to run? It's too late. For Yunli's sake, I've given you many chances. Since you don't know how to cherish them, I won't cover for you anymore."
Just as his voice trailed off, accompanied by the sound of hurried footsteps outside the door, Li Qianqian swiftly scrambled down from his bed and sat on the floor.
She deliberately spoke out loud, word by word, for the people outside to hear: "Big brother, someone intentionally locked us in here together."
The door was kicked open violently. Fu Huaishan's disheveled appearance shocked the steward and servants who rushed in, while Old Madam Fu, leading the group, frowned slightly.
Without a trace of guilt on her face, Li Qianqian walked composedly over to Old Madam Fu and said:
"Mom, you came just in time. Big brother is running a high fever, yet someone locked the door from the outside. If he isn't treated in time and his brain gets fried from the fever, who knows how much the Fu Group's stock would plummet!"
Old Madam Fu slowly turned her head to look at the steward, who had been eager to bring everyone over.
"You've always been the one in charge of the household staff and affairs."
Steward Ji was frightened out of his wits, never expecting that the second young madam, who usually stuttered whenever an issue arose, would be so sharp-tongued this time.
"Old Madam, the servants at home wouldn't have the audacity. They're just working here to make a living; how could they ever commit such an unlawful and criminal act?"
"Besides, it's not a day or two that the second young madam has been harassing Master Fu. I happened to see her carrying water upstairs and refusing to let any other servants go up to clean—"
*Crash!* Li Qianqian casually grabbed the drugged glass cup nearby and smashed it against the floor, shattering it into pieces.
Though she looked furious on the outside, she was blooming with joy on the inside—the original owner's incriminating evidence had been successfully destroyed.
"Steward Ji, what do you mean by that? Yunli is already gone, and me taking his place to look after big brother is what you call harassment?"
Ji Wanyun felt a brief flutter of panic at the questioning, but when she saw Master Fu's flushed face, her confidence surged back.
She had already destroyed the surveillance footage in advance, and that cup of water had only passed through Li Qianqian's hands the entire time. No matter how she tried to explain now, she would not be able to clear her name!
"What you put into Master Fu's room, you know best in your heart. Whether you were taking care of him or not, the doctor will know as soon as they arrive. You sneaked that cup of water upstairs and wouldn't let anyone touch it, which naturally gave me reason to suspect you."
Li Qianqian raised her eyes, her tone remaining neither warm nor cold, a faint smile curving the corners of her lips.
"A mere servant dares to throw dirty water on me without any evidence?"
Hearing the word "servant," Ji Wanyun felt a lump in her throat, but upon second thought, a widow about to be kicked out of the Fu family would likely only be able to look up to her in the future.
Engaging in a petty war of words right now would only make Huaishan despise this sister-in-law even more.
There was no need for her to argue with such a person; it simply lowered her status. Ji Wanyun smiled slightly.
"Second Young Madam, apologies. If anything I said has displeased you, please bear with it. As Master Fu's personal assistant and steward, I have to be extra cautious when it comes to his safety."
"Go check the surveillance. Keep this matter quiet, and take Huaishan to Xiaochuan for an examination."
Old Madam Fu twirled the prayer beads in her hand, deep in thought. Her expression remained unchanged, making it impossible for anyone to guess what she was thinking.
