Ten-plus minutes later, Tang Jing finally found them. She stood inside the small restaurant, panting heavily.
"Tang Jing, what more do you want?" Jiang Yurou asked, frowning. Was eating here really an inconvenience to her?
"I told you that you would come to beg me," Chen Bufan said coldly.
"I’m sorry. I was blind and lacked manners. I sincerely apologize to you both!" Tang Jing bowed at a ninety-degree angle.
Jiang Yurou’s eyes widened. She looked at Chen Bufan in shock, then back at Tang Jing. "What... is going on?"
"It was my fault before. Please, come dine at Yanyu Jiangnan; everything is already prepared," Tang Jing said urgently.
"No need. We are quite happy eating here," Chen Bufan replied with an indifferent tone.
Tang Jing could only turn her gaze to Jiang Yurou. "Yurou, for the sake of our old friendship, please forgive me. You must come to Yanyu Jiangnan, or I’ll lose my job!"
Jiang Yurou looked bewildered. "Tang Jing, isn't that a bit extreme?"
"I was wrong! I didn't know Yanyu Jiangnan was actually booked by your husband. I'm just trying to make amends—please, you must come! If you don't, I really will lose my job!" Tang Jing was on the verge of tears.
What? Jiang Yurou was stunned. She looked at Chen Bufan, dumbfounded. She had misunderstood—Chen Bufan hadn't been lying; he hadn't been posturing at all!
"Yurou, Sisi, are you full?" Chen Bufan asked, then went to settle the bill.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but I hope you stop harassing us," Chen Bufan warned Tang Jing, his eyes flashing with chilling killing intent.
Tang Jing was too terrified to even breathe, forced to watch as Chen Bufan left, speechless and in despair.
After leaving the restaurant, Jiang Yurou said guiltily, "Tang Jing is actually a good person. She must have regretted what she said earlier and made up an excuse to get us to go back."
Chen Bufan: "..."
"Yurou, do you still not believe that I booked the place?"
"Booking Yanyu Jiangnan, plus all the decorations—that must cost millions. Where would you get that kind of money?" Jiang Yurou looked serious.
"Four years ago, I went to the northern front. In those four years, I rendered countless meritorious services and was eventually crowned a War God. I commanded millions of soldiers—money is the last thing I lack..."
"Chen Bufan!" Jiang Yurou suddenly stiffened her face. "Can you be more reliable? Stop spouting such nonsense! I’ve said it before: as long as you’re back, that’s all I need. I don't need you to be anything else."
Chen Bufan was silent. Speaking like this so suddenly was indeed hard to believe; he would have to find a chance to come clean later.
"By the way, you hired so many cars and invited so many people—that must have cost a lot of money, right?"
"Friends helped out," Chen Bufan lied, not daring to tell the truth.
"And Han Youwei and his son..."
"Perhaps they regained their conscience," Chen Bufan added.
"Most likely," Jiang Yurou agreed readily.
*This silly girl...* Chen Bufan smiled helplessly, though that was exactly why he loved her—her kind heart. That was enough.

**Chapter 11: The Three-Day Deadline!**
Chen Bufan spent the entire afternoon playing with Yurou and Sisi. It wasn't until nightfall that they returned home. It was a dilapidated house in an urban village, converted into small individual rental units for three hundred yuan a month.
"You live here?" Chen Bufan surveyed the environment, his brow furrowed.
"What’s wrong with here? It’s cheap and convenient. To pay for Sisi’s medical treatment, we save every penny we can," Jiang Yurou said dismissively.
To see a legitimate lady of the Jiang family reduced to this state made Chen Bufan’s heart ache.
"I’ll buy a house tomorrow!" Chen Bufan declared decisively.
Jiang Yurou rolled her eyes. "Liyang may not be a big city, but housing prices have skyrocketed these past few years. You think it's like it was four years ago? A square meter starts at over ten thousand now. A small unit would cost a million. You can't just buy one because you say so."
Afraid of hurting his pride, she added softly, "Bufan, I don't mind. I just hope you can stay grounded. We’ll be able to afford one eventually."
"Alright," Chen Bufan had to agree helplessly.
The room wasn't large, but it was clean and very cozy.
"Four years of war, flames and smoke—having a home feels so good..." Chen Bufan said with satisfaction.
"What are you muttering about? Come help me tidy up; Sisi is already asleep," Jiang Yurou called out.
"Coming!" Chen Bufan replied. If the world’s most powerful figures saw this, they would be stunned; the only person who dared to order a War God around like this was Jiang Yurou.
...
The destruction of Han Youwei’s family was still rocking Liyang, with countless people discussing it incessantly.
The night wind was biting. Han Lie stood on the ruins of the Han family home for several hours, his feet littered with cigarette butts. At that moment, he received intelligence, and his eyes glinted sharply.
"Feiyun, it’s been confirmed. Chen Bufan did it!"
"Chen Bufan? Isn't that loser dead?" Han Feiyun’s eyes narrowed. She wore knee-high suede boots, a leather skirt, and a trench coat—cold and peerless.
"The brat got lucky. He didn't die when he fell into the river all those years ago. After all this time, he actually returned to Liyang and wiped out my big brother's whole family. Such audacity!"
"I thought it was some master; to think it’s just that loser. Back then, he was like a lapdog in our house. He wasn't even qualified to touch me. No matter how many years have passed, a loser is a loser," Han Feiyun sneered.
"Regardless, he killed my brother's family. We have to kill him. Besides, ever since four years ago, there have been people dying to see him dead!" Han Lie said harshly, crushing a cigarette butt under his heel. "Gather the men. Send Chen Bufan on his way!"
...
At midnight, dozens of sedans converged on the urban village. According to the intelligence, Chen Bufan lived there, and with his wife and child in tow, they could handle it all at once!
"Tiger, this is the place. The cars can't get in," a subordinate said.
"Get out and kill them!" ordered the man with the flat-top haircut known as Tiger. He was Han Lie’s top enforcer and the one who had first discovered that the Han family had been wiped out.
Dozens of cars opened, and over a hundred brawny men emerged. However, the moment they stepped out, they were dumbfounded!
In the hazy night, countless figures in black appeared, drifting like ghosts, emanating an aura of death like sharpened blades! Compared to these people, Tiger and his men were like children; they were suppressed by the sheer momentum alone.
"Ti-Tiger, who are these people?" the subordinates panicked.
Tiger swallowed hard. "Who are you?"
"The ones who are going to kill you!"
A figure suddenly appeared—it was Canglong, who had been ordered to protect Yurou and her daughter in the shadows.
"We were sent by Master Han! You have a death wish, daring to cause trouble here!" Tiger blustered.
"Master Han? Then there's no mistake!" Following Canglong’s command, the shadows in the night moved.
*Pfft, pfft, pfft...*
In an instant, blades flashed. The men sent by Han Lie had no power to resist and fell to the ground one by one. After just a few minutes, only Tiger remained. He had already wet himself in fear, his legs trembling and his face pale.
"Time to go," Canglong said, a dagger appearing in his hand, its cold edge gleaming.
"Wait." A cold voice interrupted. A white-clad figure suddenly descended, his overwhelming aura shaking the surroundings!
"Palace Master!" Canglong bowed.
"Who are you?" Tiger asked, his voice filled with horror.
"Chen Bufan!"
Tiger’s eyes glinted. If he couldn't beat the others, couldn't he handle this brat? With a sudden burst of desperate ferocity, he pulled out a short blade and thrust it toward Chen Bufan’s chest.
"It’s rare to find someone in this world who dares to kill me," Chen Bufan caught the blade with a single hand, fast as lightning.
*Crunch!*
The sharp steel blade shattered like ice, and the force turned Tiger’s hand into a pulp of flesh and bone.
"Aaaah..." He let out a beast-like roar of pain.
Chen Bufan pressed his hand onto Tiger’s shoulder; it felt like a thousand-pound weight. With a *thud*, Tiger’s knees buckled, and he crashed onto the concrete.
*Crack!* The cement beneath him shattered.
Tiger wanted to scream curses. Didn't Master Han say this guy was a loser? A few years ago, he hadn't even been worth as much as a dog in their house! *To hell with that!* This was a demon, and he had walked right into the gates of hell!
"I won't kill you. Go back and tell Han Lie and his daughter: if they don't want me to pay a personal visit, they have three days to come and apologize to me!" Chen Bufan said coldly. He then exerted force, a burst of internal energy drilling into Tiger’s shoulder.
Accompanied by the sound of breaking bones, Tiger grimaced in agony. As soon as Chen Bufan released him, Tiger crawled away, desperate to leave this hellish place.
"Palace Master, why not cut the weeds and pull the roots?" Canglong asked, puzzled.
Chen Bufan glanced at him.
"I apologize, I overstepped," Canglong quickly admitted.
"Canglong, you understand too little of the human heart," Chen Bufan said before departing. When the Han family had struck years ago, there must have been a specific reason. Chen Bufan was casting a long line to catch a big fish!
When Chen Bufan hurried back, he found Jiang Yurou standing at the door, which gave him a start.
"Yurou, it’s the middle of the night. Why are you standing here?"
Tears hung in the corners of Jiang Yurou's eyes. She rushed forward and hugged Chen Bufan tightly—so tightly he could feel the warmth of her body. "I was afraid you would leave again."
Chen Bufan looked at her with tenderness. "I won't. I just went to the restroom. Come on, let's get some sleep." He held her and walked into the room.
...
At dawn, in a private villa in Liyang, Han Lie sat in the living room, constantly checking the time. He was waiting—waiting for the good news from his men. For some reason, he felt a sense of unease.
"Dad, don't worry. A hundred men—how could they not handle one loser? Chen Bufan and his family of three will be reunited in the underworld soon!"
"It’s a pity; I really wanted to see with my own eyes how Chen Bufan died," Han Feiyun said with regret, sipping her coffee with elegance.
*Bang!*
Just then, a figure stumbled into the living room—it was Tiger.
"Dad, see? I told you it would be fine," Han Feiyun said, before realizing something was wrong. Tiger was covered in blood. As he reached the living room, he collapsed to the floor.
"Second Master, it’s bad... the brothers were all killed. Chen Bufan wants you and the Young Lady to come and apologize to him within three days, otherwise, he’s coming to pay you a visit himself!"
*Pfft!* After delivering the message, Tiger spat out a mouthful of blood. The internal energy Chen Bufan had left in his body erupted, and he died instantly.

**Chapter 12: Harass My Wife Again, and You Won't See Tomorrow's Sun!**
"Tiger!" Han Lie roared, his eyes bloodshot. Everyone was dead! It was like a thunderbolt that left his head spinning. That was over a hundred men! Not a single survivor—it was inconceivable!
Han Feiyun was terrified. *Clatter!* Her coffee cup dropped to the floor, shards of glass flying everywhere. Out of over a hundred men, only Tiger returned, and only to deliver a message before dying. Chen Bufan—how could this loser have done such a thing?
"Wiping out my brother’s family, killing a hundred of my men—Chen Bufan, this debt is not settled!" Han Lie clenched his fists.
"Dad, this brat is too arrogant! He even expects us to apologize—it’s pure delusion!" Han Feiyun’s eyes were venomous.
"He must have martial artists helping him!" Han Lie analyzed.
"If he has martial artists helping him, what do we do?" Han Feiyun asked.
"Even if he has help, so what? I am the Deputy Hall Master of the Kirin Hall. I will go see Hall Master Xing Ao. We will have this brat crushed in Liyang!" Han Lie didn't waste a second, setting off that very night.
...
Chen Bufan woke up at eight in the morning. Jiang Yurou was already up and had prepared breakfast. Watching her busy figure and the rich spread on the table, Chen Bufan felt a sense of contentment. For years, this was the only moment he had felt warmth.
"Yurou, you truly are a kind and virtuous wife."
"Stop with the flattery, go wash up and eat. I have to go to work soon," Jiang Yurou said.
"Work?"
"How else will we make money? I sell houses for a real estate firm and work part-time as a designer for a studio." By the time she finished speaking, she was already dressed. She wore a skirt and shirt suit, her slender legs wrapped in silk stockings, paired with pointed black high heels. Her dark hair was pinned back with a pearl clip, revealing her snow-white neck. She looked elegant and outstanding.
"It’s a pity you aren't a movie star, Yurou," Chen Bufan sighed.
"With me here, you don't need to work anymore," Chen Bufan said, his heart aching for her.
"Chen Bufan!" Jiang Yurou glared at him.
"What's wrong?" Chen Bufan was confused.
"Can you just be steady for once? Sisi starts kindergarten this year; there are so many expenses. How can I not work? By the way, what are you going to do about Sisi’s condition?"
"Actually, it's already cured. I’ll just give her a little more treatment, and it will be fine," Chen Bufan said.
"Fine. You stay home and look after Sisi; I'm leaving." With that, Jiang Yurou rode off to work on her bike. Members of the Demon God Temple were already secretly protecting her.
After finishing breakfast with Sisi, Chen Bufan checked her condition. The poison in her body was cleared, and after using his internal energy to stabilize her, she should be fine.
At that moment, a commercial vehicle arrived in the urban village. No one paid it much mind, but when the people inside stepped out, countless eyes turned toward them with heated gazes.
A tall young woman in a white dress, wearing sunglasses, exuded a powerful aura and stunning beauty.
Bai Ruobing surveyed her surroundings and frowned. "The person so highly regarded lives here?"
Uncle Hui looked embarrassed. "There shouldn't be any issue."
Bai Ruobing didn't speak. She walked to the house and knocked. "Hello, we are looking for Chen Bufan!"
Chen Bufan opened the door. He didn't recognize them. "What do you want?"
Bai Ruobing and Uncle Hui looked him up and down; they couldn't see anything special about him.
"I heard from Professor Li that you possess the Ghost Valley Profound Needles?" Bai Ruobing asked directly.
"I don't know any Professor Li. Speak your mind or get lost," Chen Bufan said coldly.
"Show some manners to our Young Lady," Uncle Hui said. He had thought he was meeting a master, but this was just a young man. He couldn't help but doubt Professor Li’s words.
"If you have nothing to say, I'm busy." Chen Bufan wasn't in the mood to entertain them and moved to close the door.
"Wait!" Bai Ruobing blocked him. "My name is Bai Ruobing. I need an expert medical master for an emergency. If you can help, you won't have to live here anymore."
"Not interested," Chen Bufan shook his head and slammed the door.
Just then, a large hand reached out and grabbed the doorframe with immense force. "Young man, don't be too arrogant!" Uncle Hui said in a deep voice.
"Are you lecturing me?" Chen Bufan’s gaze was like a sword, his aura suddenly erupting like a primordial flood, unstoppable and destructive. Uncle Hui felt as if he had been struck by a heavy blow and recoiled, his expression one of horror.
"We don't know each other. I'm not the person you're looking for. Don't bother me here again, or you will be killed without mercy!"
*Bang!*
The door slammed shut.
Uncle Hui’s eyes flashed with intensity. "Such powerful strength! Miss, I didn't believe it before, but I do now."
Bai Ruobing took off her sunglasses, her face filled with shock. She knew exactly what Uncle Hui’s strength was; to be pushed back like that was terrifying! But if he were really that strong, would he live here?
"Uncle Hui, investigate his background. If he really is the one we are looking for, we must not let him go!" Bai Ruobing commanded before leaving with him.
Chen Bufan didn't take the incident to heart. The only things that mattered in his life were Yurou and Sisi; everyone else was irrelevant.
After tidying up, Chen Bufan took Sisi out to play. He wanted to make up for every responsibility he had missed in the past. At the playground, in the park, at the aquarium... Sisi left behind peals of laughter; she had never been this happy.
By the time evening came, Chen Bufan took Sisi to the Yunlu Real Estate Company, where Jiang Yurou worked. Chen Bufan’s arrival drew a crowd of onlookers, pointing and whispering.
"So that’s Jiang Yurou’s husband? There’s nothing special about him."
"He’s quite handsome."
"What’s the point of being handsome? You can't eat good looks!"
"Jiang Yurou is such a fool, passing up a wealthy marriage to choose a penniless loser..."
...
"Bufan, why are you here?" Jiang Yurou ran toward him.
"To pick you up from work," Chen Bufan smiled, ignoring the comments.
"Yurou, let me drive you home," a man in a suit walked over, pressing his car key to flash the lights of an Audi parked at the entrance. He glanced at Chen Bufan sideways, his smile thick with sarcasm.
"Thank you, Supervisor Bai, but that’s not necessary," Jiang Yurou politely declined.
"Yurou, the Yunlu Academy project has been open for a while, and your performance hasn't been great. I was hoping to help you out with that," Supervisor Bai continued to press.
"It’s past work hours. Let’s talk about that tomorrow," Jiang Yurou replied firmly.
"I’m just concerned about my subordinates. I know you’re raising a daughter alone and under financial pressure. Let’s go to a coffee shop and chat, or I’ll be worried about your monthly evaluation," Supervisor Bai said with a sinister, warning tone, completely ignoring Chen Bufan.
"Does a supervisor at Yunlu Real Estate harass female subordinates so blatantly?" Chen Bufan suddenly spoke up.
Supervisor Bai’s face flushed red. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
Chen Bufan said nothing and stepped directly in front of him. His aura was so overbearing—like a tiger or a wolf—that Supervisor Bai’s legs began to tremble.
"I’m warning you, don't do anything stupid!!"
Seeing him acting like a coward, Chen Bufan looked at him with contempt and whispered in a voice only he could hear: "If you want to see tomorrow's sun, stop harassing my wife!"
The sharpness of his tone made Supervisor Bai shudder, his face turning pale. He didn't dare say another word. Chen Bufan smiled, left, and rode his scooter home with Yurou and Sisi.
