Chen Feiyu glanced at him and shook his head. "There is no cure for the brain-dead," he said. He then walked over to Xie Anxiang and sat down beside him.
Xie Zirui’s face alternated between red and white, but he could not argue back; Chen Feiyu had already proven with facts that he was the true idiot.
Xie Anxiang exclaimed in admiration, "Young Master Chen, what you said earlier is truly thought-provoking. I must confess, even I held prejudices against Traditional Chinese Medicine. If it weren't for your profound medical skills and the fact that you cured my terminal illness, I fear I would have continued to misunderstand it. I am truly ashamed."
Chen Feiyu shook his head. "Every craft has its specialists. It is normal that you lacked the knowledge to perceive it."
Everyone present felt a flush of embarrassment. This young man was truly straightforward; he didn't offer a single word of empty flattery.
Xie Anxiang gave a dry laugh. "Young Master Chen is absolutely right. By the way, how much confidence do you have in completely curing my terminal illness?"
This was the question everyone cared about most; they looked at him with immediate tension.
After a moment of thought, Chen Feiyu held up two fingers.
"Twenty percent?"
Everyone sighed inwardly.
Xie Anxiang also felt a slight disappointment, but he laughed immediately after. "Even if it is only twenty percent, it is still better than having no hope at all."
Chen Feiyu looked at him strangely. "Who said twenty percent? I meant that I could have you completely recovered within two weeks."
"What? Only two weeks?" Xie Anxiang said excitedly, his fingers trembling slightly.
It wasn't just him; the entire Ren Family—no, the entire Xie Family—was stirred to excitement. Xie Anxiang was the pillar of the Xie Family; as long as he stood, the family would never fall. Xie Yongguo looked at Chen Feiyu with a gaze that was turning fiery and grateful.
Chen Feiyu shook his head inwardly and whispered, "So excited over two weeks? If not for the sake of caution, I could have healed him in three days." Fortunately, he spoke quietly enough that no one else heard, or they would have been shocked all over again.
After some casual conversation, because Xie Anxiang had not yet fully recovered, everyone left except for Chen Feiyu, Xie Yongguo, Xie Xingxuan, Uncle Zhong, and Han Muqing.
Xie Anxiang gave Xie Yongguo a look. Xie Yongguo understood immediately and pulled out a black bank card. "Dr. Chen, there is one million in this card as an initial payment. Once my father is completely recovered, there will be further remuneration."
Chen Feiyu did not stand on ceremony and accepted it with peace of mind. To think he had only been down from the mountain for a week and had already earned a million—he was truly delighted. He was grinning on the inside, but he maintained a calm and indifferent expression on the surface. "Since that is the case, I won't be overly modest."
Xie Anxiang said admiringly, "Young Master Chen is young, yet not only are your medical skills superb, you remain calm in the face of both favor and humiliation. I truly wonder what kind of master trained you."
"You are too kind, you are too kind," Chen Feiyu said with a sheepish smile.
Han Muqing was also happy for Chen Feiyu.
Suddenly, Xie Anxiang continued, "Muqing has a keen eye for talent; this counts as a great service. I recall you are the manager of the Mingji Trade Building? From now on, you shall be the CEO."
The Mingji Trade Building was the very mall Chen Feiyu had visited earlier, and it was one of the Xie Family’s subsidiary businesses.
Joy fell from the sky for Han Muqing. She said excitedly, "Thank you, Elder and Family Head! I will certainly not let down the Family Head's trust."
Xie Anxiang smiled. "You should thank Young Master Chen."
He was right. The only reason Han Muqing could become CEO was entirely for Chen Feiyu’s sake.
"Yes, yes, yes, the Elder is quite right. I will make sure to repay him well," Han Muqing said, looking at Chen Feiyu with gratitude. She had brought Chen Feiyu here originally only as a tentative attempt, and yet he had truly worked a miracle and saved the Elder. Thanks to Chen Feiyu, she had successfully risen to become the CEO of the Mingji Trade Building.
By her original estimates, she would have needed at least ten years to reach the CEO position; yet now, in a single day, she had gone from manager to CEO. Her gratitude toward Chen Feiyu was immense.
"Could it be," she wondered, "that Chen Feiyu is my lucky star?"
Han Muqing suddenly recalled the scene of her and Chen Feiyu embracing earlier, and felt a wave of shyness.
After agreeing on the time for the next treatment, Chen Feiyu rose to take his leave.
"Xingxuan, you go along and see Young Master Chen off as well," Xie Anxiang said suddenly.
Xie Xingxuan was secretly surprised, but upon seeing the look her grandfather gave her, she said nothing, smiling as she stood up to see Chen Feiyu off. Han Muqing was also filled with astonishment. The entire upper society of Mingji City knew that Xie Xingxuan was the person the Elder doted on the most. The fact that the Elder had specifically named her to see Chen Feiyu off showed just how highly the Xie Family regarded him.
Chen Feiyu smiled; having a beauty see him off made him happy too.
However, just as he was about to leave, he turned back and sized up Uncle Zhong. "You have suffered an injury, and you have a chronic hidden ailment in your body. Am I right?"
A sharp light flashed in Uncle Zhong’s eyes before he reigned it in. He asked in surprise, "How did you know?" Three years ago, an enemy sent assassins to kill Xie Anxiang; he had fought to the death to kill them, but he had been injured himself. It had never healed, and his body would ache whenever it rained. He had never told a soul, yet Chen Feiyu had seen right through it.
Chen Feiyu smiled. "Don't forget, I am a doctor. You may have hidden it well, but you cannot deceive my eyes. Do not worry, I can treat your chronic ailment, but the conditions are not yet sufficient. When the time is right, I will treat you."
Uncle Zhong was overjoyed. He stood up and said excitedly, "In that case, I am deeply grateful."
Chen Feiyu nodded with a smile.
Suddenly, Xie Yongguo also asked with anticipation, "I’ve felt my body has been struggling a bit these past few years. Could you take a look at me as well and see if I have any chronic illnesses?" Having seen the evidence with Xie Anxiang and Uncle Zhong, Xie Yongguo now trusted Chen Feiyu’s medical skills implicitly.
Chen Feiyu looked him over and suddenly wore a strange expression. "You are deficient in kidney Qi," he said.
A strange look washed over everyone. Han Muqing and Xie Xingxuan blushed slightly and spat under their breath. Xie Yongguo, the current head of the Xie Family, was so embarrassed he nearly turned to stone on the spot.
"This..." Xie Yongguo's face turned a rare shade of red. Chen Feiyu was not wrong; lately, he had felt his physical stamina declining, his endurance lacking, and he had even been seeing his mistress less often. Thinking of the resentful gaze of his voluptuous little mistress, Xie Yongguo felt both hot with embarrassment and helpless. But such things were mortifying to have said aloud.
Chen Feiyu laughed. "Do not worry, I have a formula here called the 'Strength-Consolidating Pill.' I guarantee you will be as vigorous as a dragon and a tiger in the future; one pill lasts for three years. However, I don't have the medicinal ingredients on hand, so I can't prepare it for now."
Xie Yongguo was overjoyed. He ignored his embarrassment and urged, "The ingredients are no problem! Just tell us what you need, and the Xie Family will procure them all—and I guarantee they will be top-quality."
Chen Feiyu thought for a moment, then took some paper and a pen and wrote down all the ingredients he needed. Of course, this included more than just the pills; he added many other useful ingredients as well. Since the Xie Family was willing to be the "sucker," Chen Feiyu had no objections.
"Rest assured, Mr. Chen. The next time you come to treat the Elder, I guarantee these ingredients will be placed right in front of you, not one missing," Xie Yongguo promised repeatedly. Being able to ensure a man's vigor—this was something many people dreamt of, and now Chen Feiyu could help him realize that dream. Xie Yongguo could not be more excited.
Xie Xingxuan flushed with shame, feeling that having such a father was truly embarrassing. Han Muqing turned her head away in awkwardness.
After they took their leave, Xie Anxiang sat on the hospital bed, looking to be in high spirits. "Yongguo," he said, "Young Master Chen is a man of wonders; we must find a way to become close to him."
Xie Yongguo agreed, then asked skeptically, "Father, even if Chen Feiyu’s medical skills are truly divine, with the Xie Family’s power and status, is there really a need to value him so highly?"
Xie Anxiang sighed. "Yongguo, you are capable in every way. You have power, you understand strategy, you stir up storms in the business world with few equals, and with your second brother being a Major General in the military, the two of you—one in business, one in the military—ensure the Xie Family remains stable. But your only weakness is in recognizing and using talent. As Zeng Guofan said, 'He who is unskilled in using others is a mediocre man.' This is what worries me the most."
"He who is unskilled in using others is a mediocre man!" These were severe words.
Xie Yongguo said, feeling ashamed, "Father, your instruction is correct."
Xie Anxiang continued, "Chen Feiyu is young, but his medical skills are mysterious; he can even cure terminal illnesses. What does this mean? It means his future growth is limitless; he could even become a divine doctor on par with Bian Que. If we in the Xie Family cannot secure his friendship, we are essentially pushing him toward other families. Think about it: if another major family were to have a divine doctor like Chen Feiyu, those old foxes would be able to save their own lives as long as they weren't dead yet. How terrifying a prospect is that? What kind of threat would that pose to the Xie Family? Can you not even see this?"
By the end, Xie Anxiang’s tone had become stern. Though the Xie Family was at its zenith, both father and son knew that in Mingji City, there were at least three or four other great families that had long held ill will toward the Xie Family. The undercurrents were treacherous, and one wrong step could topple the entire Xie Family.
Xie Yongguo realized the gravity of the situation and broke out in a cold sweat. "Father, rest assured, I will definitely secure Chen Feiyu’s friendship."
Xie Anxiang nodded in satisfaction. Suddenly, Uncle Zhong spoke up. "Chen Feiyu is far more than just a divine doctor. If I am not mistaken, Chen Feiyu is also a martial artist, and his cultivation is not low."
"What?"
This time, it wasn't just Xie Yongguo; even Xie Anxiang was shocked.
"Elder Brother Zhong, is this true?" Xie Anxiang sat up straight and asked immediately.
"It is absolutely certain." Uncle Zhong nodded, a sharp light in his eyes. He recounted the incident where Qi Weidong had provoked Chen Feiyu and been soundly beaten. "When Chen Feiyu appeared in front of Qi Weidong, even I didn't see his movements clearly. Therefore, I am certain that Chen Feiyu is a martial artist, and his cultivation is definitely not below mine."
Incredulity appeared in the eyes of the Xie father and son. As members of the upper class, they knew more than the common folk. The ancient martial arts were methods passed down from antiquity. There were many sects in China, and those who achieved success could break through the limits of the body and be an army of one. Even in modern society, the role of martial practitioners remained significant.
The ancient martial realms are categorized as: Foundation Establishment, Body Tempering, Qi Unification, Nether Penetration, Grandmaster, Legend, and Xiantian.
Reaching the "Nether Penetration" realm already made one a top-tier expert capable of taking on a hundred opponents. A "Grandmaster" was a rare find among thousands. Once one holds the title of Grandmaster, one is treated with the utmost respect everywhere, even by the state. As for the "Legend" realm, it is a transcendent existence; there has been no news of any such person in the last century. As for the "Xiantian" realm, it is a mythical, god-like state; to this day, no one has been heard to have reached it.
Uncle Zhong was a "Nether Penetration" mid-stage expert. For years, he had defended the Xie Family against wave after wave of assassinations, saving them from collapse more than once. If what Uncle Zhong said was true, and Chen Feiyu was already a "Nether Penetration" mid-stage expert at such a young age, his future achievements would truly be limitless. He could even reach the "Legend" realm—not to mention his identity as a divine doctor!
This child would surely become a dragon ascending to the heavens!
Xie Anxiang was both shocked and excited. He laughed heartily, his heart filled with relief. "Chen Feiyu is absolutely a talent of the heavens! Fortunately, our Xie Family was the first to make contact with him—first come, first served. The heavens truly bless the Xie Family! Yongguo, pass down the order—no, pass it down now: from today on, Chen Feiyu is a guest of honor of the Xie Family. Everyone in the family must treat him with courtesy. Do not offend him; anyone who violates this will be punished by family law! Additionally, since Han Muqing has a closer relationship with him, raise her status; she may participate in the Xie Family's core decision-making meetings and be specially tasked with receiving Chen Feiyu."
"Father, rest assured, I will pass the order down now." Xie Yongguo was stunned. Chen Feiyu would likely be able to walk sideways through Mingji City in the future.
Setting aside the excitement of the Xie Family, Chen Feiyu was sitting in Xie Xingxuan’s Bugatti Veyron. With Xie Xingxuan driving personally and Han Muqing keeping him company, this would have made every man in Mingji City green with envy.
Having become the CEO of the Mingji Trade Building in less than a day, Han Muqing felt like she was dreaming, and all of this was because of Chen Feiyu. She was filled with gratitude, and even her gaze toward him had changed. Of course, she didn't know yet that Xie Anxiang had decided to let her participate in the core decision-making of the Xie Family—her status had risen even further. Had she known, she would be even more grateful.
Xie Xingxuan glanced at Chen Feiyu from time to time while driving. Young, yet possessing divine medical skills and profound insight; facing a titan like Xie Anxiang with grace and ease. All of this made her feel both curious and puzzled.
She fluttered her eyes and opened her lips to ask, "Mr. Chen, with such brilliant medical skills, where are you currently employed? The Mingji City Central Hospital?"
Chen Feiyu shook his head. "No."
"A provincial Grade-A hospital?"
"Neither."
Xie Xingxuan was slightly surprised, then smiled. "I know, it must be the Capital Central Hospital. With your skills, that would be a fitting place for you."
"No, none of those." Chen Feiyu shook his head again.
Xie Xingxuan was even more curious, wondering if he worked at a major hospital abroad.
Chen Feiyu laughed. "I am a waiter. I work at a snack shop."
Xie Xingxuan was stunned, then burst into a giggle and gave him a playful glare. "Mr. Chen, you are such a joker. How could someone with your skills be a waiter?"
Chen Feiyu was speechless. He was telling the truth, so why didn't this young lady believe him?
Han Muqing said awkwardly, "Ms. Xie, he is telling the truth. He really is a waiter at a snack shop."
Xie Xingxuan was dumbfounded, as if she had heard a fairy tale. The brilliant, promising Chen Feiyu was a waiter? Her grandfather’s terminal brain cancer, which even top domestic experts could not touch, had been cured by a waiter from a snack shop? Was the world really this crazy?
Finally, after seeing Chen Feiyu get out in front of the snack shop, Xie Xingxuan found it difficult to accept this reality.
Xie Xingxuan and Han Muqing got out of the car to see him off. The two women were top-tier goddesses, one elegant and noble, the other seductive and alluring; they were like twin lotus flowers, each beautiful in their own way. They immediately attracted the attention of passersby. Naturally, they were curious about who could be accompanied by two such beauties. When they saw Chen Feiyu, they subconsciously assumed he was a "pretty boy" and filled their eyes with jealousy and contempt.
Han Muqing said sincerely, "Feiyu, thank you."
If not for Chen Feiyu, she would never have received such an extraordinary promotion from Xie Anxiang.
Chen Feiyu looked her up and down, then his eyes twinkled. He teased, "Oh? Sister Qing, then how do you plan to thank me?"
Han Muqing blushed, then gave him a playful, reproachful glare. She stepped forward, and in full view of everyone, hugged Chen Feiyu. She whispered into his ear, her voice fragrant as an orchid, and giggled softly, "Bad boy, are you tempted and intoxicated by this way of thanking you?"
Many people's hearts broke. They glared at Chen Feiyu with fury; if eyes could kill, he would have been torn to pieces. With such a seductive beauty in his arms and her faint scent hitting his nose, Chen Feiyu’s heart couldn't help but stir, and a wicked grin played on his lips. He was not a purely innocent person to begin with; otherwise, he wouldn't have teased the policewoman Liu Shengnan the first time he met her.
With a beauty in his arms, Chen Feiyu did not act coy. He was just about to wrap his arms around Han Muqing’s waist and take advantage of the situation when she seemed to sense his intent. Before he could reach her, she stepped back, giggling, "Bad boy, you are not being good. See you next time."
With that, she blushed deeply and ducked back into the car, her face burning.
Xie Xingxuan was stunned by what she had just seen. She knew Han Muqing quite well; while she appeared mature and open on the outside, she was actually very conservative and had never been intimate with any man—even her own brother, who had pursued her for years, had never gotten a "yes." To think that Han Muqing would take the initiative to throw herself at a man! If her brother found out, he would surely commit murder!
Suddenly, Chen Feiyu’s gaze turned toward Xie Xingxuan, and he wore a playful grin.
"You... what are you looking at me for?" Xie Xingxuan didn't know what was happening, but someone who was usually relaxed and at ease even when facing government officials suddenly felt nervous.
Chen Feiyu moved closer to her and teased, "I cured your grandfather. How do you plan to repay me?"
"Didn't we already give you a million?" Xie Xingxuan’s breathing became rapid.
Chen Feiyu suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms. Feeling her body trembling slightly, he chuckled, "A million—do you think that’s enough?"
The onlookers' hearts shattered again. This guy was openly two-timing! Shameless! Truly shameless! Why couldn't such a good thing happen to them? Even Han Muqing was stunned; Chen Feiyu was far too daring to publicly take advantage of the Xie Family’s princess.
Xie Xingxuan was dazed, her mind a complete blank. By the time she reacted, Chen Feiyu had already let her go and was walking toward the snack shop.
"Scoundrel!" Xie Xingxuan stomped her foot in annoyance. She hummed in frustration, sat in the car, and said coldly, "Sister Qing, I don't want anyone else to know about this."
Han Muqing said awkwardly, "Don't worry, I know what to do."
