Absolute silence once more enshrouded the Cold Pool Waters, leaving only the suppressed whimpers of Star Frost and the heavy, ragged gasps of Chen Mo intertwining in the freezing air. Star Frost's massive form was curled upon the shattered Dark Ice, its giant claws desperately shielding its chest. The horrifying lash marks, deep to the bone with weird ice crystals congealed along their edges, were a shocking sight. Even more unsettling were the severed, deep-blue Ice Tentacles coiled around its claws. They writhed frantically like living things, radiating a piercing chill and chaotic stellar fluctuations; every single twitch tugged at the wounds, inflicting excruciating pain. In its blazing white, ice-flame pupils, the immense terror and lingering dread had not yet faded, leaving only aggrieved, whimpering whines. The wound on its broken tooth seemed to hurt all the more. Chen Mo knelt on one knee a few paces away, his right arm hanging limply. The Starlight Bone Membrane covering it had grown dim, webbed with spider-web cracks. A pain like stabbing ice needles radiated from the very marrow of his bones all the way down his arm, numbing his entire left side along with it. In his Sea of Consciousness, that tiny spark of the Nirvana Edge seemed completely drained of strength, drooping desolately in a corner and emitting only a feeble, icy breath.
