Every heartbeat brought a sharp, fine prickle of pain that left half his body slightly numb. Cold sweat soaked his undergarment, turning bone-chillingly cold when caught by the night breeze. Walking ahead, the Husky's pace was noticeably more cautious than before. It no longer strolled lazily with a wagging tail, but lowered its head slightly, its ears turning alertly to catch the faintest unusual sound in the dense forest. The silver radiance flowing around its entire body was reined in considerably; rather than resembling a small lamp, it now looked more like a thin layer of quicksilver coating its fur, outlining its lean and powerful silhouette in the darkness. The silver trail of the "dog-hair navigation" pointing into the distance remained clear, though its light seemed somewhat dimmed. "Lord Dog," Chen Mo panted, his voice carrying an imperceptible tremble, "that thing... is it getting more active?" He pointed at his ribs.
