"This isn't going well. Otto can't hurt me, but I can't hurt Otto either. Right now, releasing the Limitless Technique is useless, the Domain expansion won't do much, Infinite Void cannot control him, and the Silence of Feather and Cosmos won't have a major effect on him. When it all comes down to it, the Herrscher of Binding is just a bit too much of a cheat! That guy Otto can even connect to the Tree of Imaginary, though I've cut off that connection for now. So there's only one way left to break this stalemate, and that is the Blade of True Self."
Yeye waved a hand, and the Blade of True Self flew back into his grip.
"The Blade of True Self is a weapon extracted from my own psyche, but for some reason, it was endowed with the rule of indestructibility. Qingxue, you should know why, right?"
"Master, this is an ability bestowed upon the Blade of True Self by that higher-existence. As for why it remains unaffected by external effects, it is because pure True Self is immune to any form of erosion. There is a message from that entity that I could only pass on to you now: 'Change as the heart desires, ever-shifting in a thousand ways.' That was the instruction left for you."
"I see. Change as the heart desires, ever-shifting in a thousand ways. Previously, the Blade of True Self in my hand wasn't influenced by my consciousness, so it spontaneously took the form of the weapon held by that other me. But now, I completely understand: it's a weapon drawn from my spirit, so its form changes according to my heart. Just like in True Self Mode—it didn't actually disappear, but transformed into the attire I wear."
All around Yeye, countless chains flew in, binding him and the Blade of True Self tightly in place.
"Old friend, you should know better than anyone that you mustn't lose focus during a battle. After all, I'm just a villain who stays in an office dealing with paperwork every day, whereas you are a warrior who saved lives on the battlefield."
Suddenly, the Blade of True Self shattered into countless fragments that floated in mid-air before suddenly surging toward Otto.
Otto immediately conjured a golden shield to block the incoming fragments.
"Only a tiny fraction of those pieces came at me; the rest all went to save him. I must re-establish my connection to the Tree if I am to complete my plan."
Otto looked toward the distance, at the Light Cone Yeye had placed over there. He could feel that Light Cone constantly severing his connection to the Tree. The moment he reconnected, it would instantly be cut off again, so he had to destroy that object to proceed with his plan.
A pseudo-Divine Key of Fire appeared in Otto's hand. He pulled the trigger and fired at the Light Cone, but the bullet exploded mid-air.
"Old friend, do you really want to deny me a swift release?"
"Cut the crap. If I gave you a swift release, I wouldn't feel released at all."
Several broken chains were wrapped around Yeye's body, and fragments constantly struck against these chains. More fragments gathered in Yeye's hand, transforming into a long saber. Yeye casually swung the long saber a few times.
"It seems heavy weapons really don't suit me. For me, sabers and swords are best. If the Blade of True Self hadn't been immune to all effects and indestructible, I wouldn't have bothered using it."
Otto fired several shots from the Divine Key of Fire toward Yeye, but every single bullet detonated prematurely in mid-air.
Otto knew the Divine Key of Fire's bullets were exploding early because of the tiny fragments floating around Yeye's body. As soon as the bullets flew a certain distance, those fragments struck them instantly before returning to orbit around Yeye.
"Old friend, you're getting harder and harder to deal with."
