South of Zhaoge City stood a magnificent, five-colored, gold-adorned grand hall dedicated to the primordial goddess, Goddess Nüwa.
She held an exalted position among the human race. Every year on the fifteenth day of the third lunar month, her birthday, commoners would burn incense and string colorful festoons to celebrate her. The scale of the grand hall used to worship her was quite impressive.
The hall featured white jade steps and was wreathed in auspicious light. Golden youths and jade maidens holding wish-granting jade hooks stood before the front gates. Inside the hall, silver candles burned brightly, golden censers emitted auspicious mists, and the incense smoke was exceptionally dense and flourishing.
